Best potato soup - EVER!

Good food with a good variety, quaint surroundings, reasonable priced. Steaks flavorful and juicy, fish selections are always a winner. A must-try for lunch or dinner.

We were driving south to Florida and we stopped in Dalton, Georgia. We didn't know where to have dinner so I looked at Trip Advisor for suggestions. Saw The Dalton Depot and decided to try it. It is an old depot from the 1800's. While we were there, 5 trains went by. It was fun to watch them. The food... More

Some reviews make this place sound very interesting, Sherman burning the train station down to block supplies to the south, and now a restaurant. I should have known something wasn't right when we pulled up at 5:30 on a Saturday and the parking lot was empty. The hostess took us to a back room with ladders and debris in the... More

Our softball team was in town for a tournament and wanted to make sure we could have a spot for the entire team to go. They accommodated us with a back room and even put the college football game on. Food was excellent, portions large and price was right.

The decor and location are perfect for a train lover. The location is in the center of town right next to the train tracks. The building has been beautifully decorated with train pictures and artifacts. We even had two trains go by the restaurant while we were enjoying lunch. My wife had a side salad which was very large and... More

The Dalton Depot continues to offer great food and a quaint atmosphere. A few years ago, I had Seafood Lasagna. The following year, it had been taken off of the menu. The chef told me that if I gave him a few days notice, he'd be sure it was available next time. Where else could one find this type of... More

This was a great place to hold our annual Christmas party. They really did great with accommodations of 120 associates plus their +1. After we ate there is a bar area. Those of us that chose to have a drink did. And they also have karaoke.

This place could be so much more...very poorly run. It took 45 minutes to get our lunch...we almost missed a connection back to Atlanta. We had to rush through our meal...meaning it was unmemorable. The waitresses were poorly trained and distracted.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere is nostalgic, eclectic, and fun. Nice place but also a bit expensive so maybe not an every week restaurant, but perfect for special occasions.

If you like trains, this is the place! When the Norfolk Southern freights come through the whole place trembles. For a rail fan, a must. The only main dish I could find other than burgers was roadrunner stew. It is served with an egg shaped fried mashed potato. The stew looked gray, but it tasted better than it looked, especially...
