Our first trip to Back Porch and it was excellent. Service was a little slow but the food made up for it, the calamari, I'd order it again and the cioppino was almost as good as the one I ate in SF, all in all we will be going back. Everything on the menu looked good and the oysters....we ate... More

We wanted seafood, and what we got was very good. This restaurant was listed in the "fine dining" category of the brochures we had. The food was up to that, but the decor and service were more average, family style. The biggest negative though was they didn't carry any of the local wines, which we really hoped to enjoy with... If you can get past the color of the building, which seems out of place in Dahlonega's square, the Oyster Bar is a good choice. A bit pricier than most other locations in town, the Oyster Bar focuses on seafood. They have a few porches that offer outdoor seating (be sure to ask to sit on a porch or upstairs).... More

Always ready to try out a new to me restaurant and had heard about The Back Porch from one of my children. We were greetly warmly by one of the owners and told that there was no tables available upstairs but we could dine downstairs. The ambience was early Captain D's. The waitress was prompt and breathlessly gave the nights... More

My mother and I went to Dahlonega to walk the square and shop for antiques. We walked to all the restaurants in the square, looking at their menus and decor. We chose to eat here after speaking with the owner and smelling the delicious aromas wafting form the kitchen to porch. We were not expecting to eat seafood in the... More

My wife and I were greeted with a big friendly smile, glad to have you, and seated. Waitress offered us lunch and dinner menu (4:30pm), whatever you want. Were checked on while we waited, and made sure we had everything needed when meal was served, shrimp n grits, stuffed cold maine lobster, and casino oysters. Waitress saw water I had... More

The food was excellent - oysters from 5 different locations - the service was over the top and we will definitely be back.

This restaurant recently relocated to a great space on the square in Downtown Dahlonega. The food is superb and reasonably priced, the service is great and the management is attentive and helpful and seem to appreciate your patronage. While great seafood in the Georgia mountains seems far fetched, you will have to try this to believe it!
