The square in dahlonega is always a buzz with activity and gold panning can work up an appetite.. Well a cold beer and some nachos sounded like a good idea at an oyster bar in the ga mountains ..lol but that's dahlonega .. Overlooking the action .. Gary our server .. Took care of us with smiles and a good... More

Stopped by in the afternoon to take a look at the place and one of the hostesses gave us the guided tour in detail and was very courteous. Great first impression! Stopped in later for dinner and they did not disappoint. Oysters on the half shell were very fresh, Surf and turf included a filet and scallops and both were... More

My wife and I have been on a 17 state road trip, from Southwest Ga. to Maine and New Hampshire, Vermont and several more states. We are in Dahlonega, ga. to begin our journey home. We just had the best meal of the whole trip. If the Back Porch does not make, shame on the people in this area. Some... More

There is inside or outside dining and the food was very good. The crab dip delicious with tasty pita chips, the ahi tuna wonderful, and scallop dish was very good. Casual dining inside or outside facing the square or on the back porch. Would definitely go back.

I love the Back Porch Oyster Bar. We came across it after listening to a little bluegrass on the square in Dahlonega. The staff are friendly, and the service was fast and pleasant. The owner came by, shared his story, and when we couldn't decide on what oyster, had our server bring us one of each! Also important to note:... More

Pros: The food was really good and fresh! Cons: Upon arrival, the hostess was arguing with a manager (??) about the lack of silverware rolled, menus prepped, and where the guests were being seated. It was also apparent that the entire place needed a GOOD wash down and pressure washing on the back porch. Once we were seated the service... More

My family visiting from the Caribbean spent a month in Dahlonega and ate at most of the restaurants in town more than once. Back Porch Oyster Bar was overall the best and our favorite!
