Fantastic food and plenty of it! Big holiday crowds were well-managed too. Would definitely return for another family holiday.

We were here on thanksgiving day. The food was very good traditional thanksgiving fare. It was well prepared and plentiful. Will go try them on a regular day the next time we visit.

When I have business clients come up from Atlanta they always want to eat at The Smith House. Good atmosphere as you set at a table with complete strangers but by the time you leave they have become friends. The food is good Southern food such as fried chicken, fried okra, green beans, rice with brown gravy, biscuits and muffins... More

There’s something satisfying, almost nostalgic, about eating a meal served family style. I rather like meeting strangers over a common table and sharing our stories as we get to know each other. It’s part of the charm of The Smith House and the ample platters of food seem to taste a little better in such an atmosphere. During a recent... More

I have eaten here a few times in a very large group that takes up the entire dining space downstairs. The staff handles our group wonderfully every time. The food is so good, and always just like I remember it from the year before. Definitely a must if you're in the area.

This family style restaurant is downstairs in the Smith House just off the square in Dahlonega. They serve lunch and supper. We wish they served breakfast too, but I guess they can't do it ALL! Haha! Everyone who goes here loves it!

Great experience and we have never had a bad one there. The servers were very nice and quick and the food was plentiful. Only negative we had the food was very salty so if you have an issue with that you might want to watch it. Perhaps moe than one dessert choice would be nice, but the shortcake was delicious.

Looking old and run down inside. A little overpriced. Food & service were good. Ambience not nearly as nice as The Dillard House.

The food at The Smith House is always good. Set up as boarding house seating, your food is brought out by the bowls and platters. You get to make new friends and enjoy a wonderful meal. If you are looking for low fat, low cholesterol meal...not here! But you never, ever go away hungry and it is like Thanksgiving everyday!... More

Drove up to Dahlonega to do some shopping on a beautiful October Friday. Dropped into the Smith House for lunch as it was a very short walk from the Dahlonega square. The Smith House serves family style at tables where different parties sit together. The menu was static and included meats (Fried Chicken and ham) veggies (cream corn, fried okra,... More
