If you've never tried family style dining, this is the place to go. Family style dining means they bring a large platter of each item out of the kitchen and everyone serves themselves . My husband, 5 year old daughter, mother in law and father-in-law joined me for lunch at this restaurant. It was loved by all. It was delicious.... More

I came to the Smith House with a large group after spending the day whitewater rafting. As we waited for the entire group to arrive we sat On some rocking chairs talking about how lovely the outside of the house looked. We went downstairs to the dining room and were seated immediately. A server came over and took our drink... More

We visited The Smith House Restaurant with Friends and I have to say me say that the food was as good or better than in the Past. The servers were very polite and kept our food coming and coming. The fried Chicken and roast Beef was out standing as were all the rest of the foods. WE stop in every... More

We stopped in for dinner at the Smith House on July 5. Not too busy. We enjoyed the fried chicken and pot roast. Nice selection of sides. Dessert of strawberry shortcake was delicious. Prices were reasonable. The "family style" seating was a first for us and took a little getting used to. We had a nice couple from SC seated... More

I've been a huge fan of the Smith House, however the last few times I've been here, I have noticed how bland the food is. Our latest visit which was July 3rd, everything was going great. The staff is very nice and they service has been great. Then we come to the food. The only things I would come back... More

We had dinner here on a very busy day (the 4th of July), but didn't have to wait too long to eat. We were seated with another family, and it was fun to meet them. Our kids had a great time making new friends. The food was great, and there was plenty of it! My oldest and I looked the... More

We visited the Smith House several years ago when I lived in Georgia. The food was so good that time that we decided to try it again on this visit. As usual the food was excellent, the service was great and should we visit there again I'm sure we will eat there again. The place has that homey atmosphere. Along... More

We ate here while visiting Dahlonega and really enjoyed the country cooked food. We were served in bowls brought to the table. When you finished a bowl, they would bring you more. You have a wide variety of vegetables and meats. The fried chicken was our favorite. It is good value for what you get.

My wife and I had lunch here and thought it to be a little pricey and only average at best quality. If you eat here you can only leave hungry if you choose to do so. The Southern Fried Chicken was pretty good, The Roast Beef while very tender was not very good. Some of the Vegetables were pretty good... More
