Almost always way crowded, so plan accordingly. Its good to great southern comfort food, but a little pricey, so bring your feed bag!

The food at The Smith House was great! The chicken is out of this world, and the fried okra is to die for!

New Years Day 2015. Black eyed peas and Collard Greens were on the menu. The collard green were the best I have ever had. The fried chicken was wonderful- even if they were out of thighs. We are plenty of chicken legs! The mashed potatoes were awesome. Shoot, nothing was bad! It is family style seating and our party of... More

We love the Smith House. We have been eating there when we are in the area for 26 years. We love the fried chicken and all the wonderful veggies. The young servers are always so nice and ready to get you another helping if you want it. We were there during the Christmas holidays and it was decorated in a... More

I had been here before and loved it. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. They were not all that busy but did have a few tables with patrons. I had anticipated about 2 hours for eating and we only took about an hour. The food was out almost as soon as we ordered it. I love family... More

Went to dinner with our family including two ever hungry teens. No one was hungry when we left. Sit at large tables, food served family style. The fried chicken is fabulous, and the fried okra the best I have ever had. Creamed corn, greens were terrific. Best to go when you are really hungry

Fantastic food and plenty of it! Big holiday crowds were well-managed too. Would definitely return for another family holiday.

We were here on thanksgiving day. The food was very good traditional thanksgiving fare. It was well prepared and plentiful. Will go try them on a regular day the next time we visit.

When I have business clients come up from Atlanta they always want to eat at The Smith House. Good atmosphere as you set at a table with complete strangers but by the time you leave they have become friends. The food is good Southern food such as fried chicken, fried okra, green beans, rice with brown gravy, biscuits and muffins... More

There’s something satisfying, almost nostalgic, about eating a meal served family style. I rather like meeting strangers over a common table and sharing our stories as we get to know each other. It’s part of the charm of The Smith House and the ample platters of food seem to taste a little better in such an atmosphere. During a recent... More
