Went to the Oar House on Thursday evening ( 18th December) for an anniversary dinner. The whole place was dark. Nobody there, nothing happening. So we went to another great Dahlonega restaurant for dinner. I made enquiries on Friday, and was told that on Wednesday this week, the place closed. Remaining food in the kitchen was shared amongst staff, and... More

I recently went to Cool Breeze for dinner with my husband and another couple. We chose it for the description on the sign as "Casual Fine Dining." There was nothing fine about anything we had or experienced! The bottle of wine we ordered was not brought to our table. Our waitress said she had opened it for us and we... More

Went for dinner on a nice October night and asked to sit outside by the water. If they would just clean it up out there it'd be so nice! But we overlooked it and enjoyed the evening. The food was good,...but for the price it wasn't as good as I hoped. And the waitress came over and asked if we... More

We had 7:30 reservations but did not need them. There were plenty of tables. Yet we had to wait over 10 minutes in the lobby before anyone acknowledged us. They could use a hostess or maybe the owner could have said hello and offered a drink. The food was excellent. The stuffed dates were an amazing creation. The split pea... More

We had a pleasant lunch at the Oar House. Since it was chilly fall weather, we sat inside with a view overlooking the patio and the river. Our server was very prompt and was attentive to our table. We also adored her true Southern accent. Two of us got the grilled talapia sandwich, which was excellent. The home made fries... More

Grea food in a beautiful setting. We went for lunch during the week, and had a relaxed, delicious meal. We began with crab cakes (made by hand and served with a delicious horseradish sauce on the side). They were delicious, although a bit pricey for the serving size. While enjoying those we also enjoyed an excellent botle of Chardonnay, reasonably... More

Had a fabulous crab cake that was more than enough for one. Vegetables were fresh from the garden and bread was awesome. Well worth the visit. Country setting.

Our first visit, beautiful setting on the river outside, equally nice inside. I had a reuben which was excellent. My husband had a pretty tough veal parmigan sandwich. Server was great but it took almost 30 mins to get our food and there were only 5 other tables ??? I will go back for dinner to enjoy some of the... More

Enjoyed a quiet evening sitting by the river eating dinner. The tables were had a lovely scenic view. The food was very good (So good we went back the next day for lunch!) We started with the Chorizo stuffed dates. We ordered 1/2 an order and that was plenty for us. I had the Prime rib which was cooked perfectly... More

Went with another couple on a Friday night for the first time and found this to be a great place for dinner. Atmosphere inside and out, food quantities are generous and everything cooked perfectly. Had appetizers, crab cakes and spinach/artichoke dip, excelled quality, trout and chicken dishes. Can't say enough of the great experience. Servers were very attentive. Not sure... More
