Their brisket burnt ends are amazing! They use green eggs for their smoking and their beans and Brunswick stew shows great things. Try the corn souffle, it's almost like dessert!

BBQ is a subjective thing---everyone has different tastes, I have been to BBQ restaurants that are nothing special that others would drive an hour out of the way to get to. So when it comes to Smoking Gold, here are the basics: 1. Great selection of sides, the corn pudding and beans were excellent, 2. Prices: very reasonable, 3. Service:... More

The food was great, I had a pulled chicken BBQ sandwich and my husband had pulled pork. The service was friendly and the restaurant had a very small-town homey feel.

The meat was great -- very flavorful and moist. The sides could use some work. Service was pleasant and efficient. A great local barbecue option, especially for take out and a mountain picnic!

We stopped in on the Fourth of July. Restaurant was busy, but no wait for an outside table. Our waitress was a local college student. When we asked a question about the fireworks show later the evening, she acted annoyed and pointed out that she wasn't from here and had no idea. Interesting, because we were told the fireworks show... More

The BBQ is moist and delicious. It's cooked in the Green Egg, so it has a very good smoky flavor. The sauces are also very good. My daughter ordered the corn casserole and peach cobbler based on reviews she'd seen elsewhere, and they did not disappoint. You can eat outdoors with your pet or inside if you prefer. Highly recommend... More

Good 'Q prepared well. Fresh sides. Just wished they offered more options of sauces such as the mustard based and vinegar based.

Everything here, save for the potato salad, was fantastic. The brisket was amazing, the rib tip sandwich was great, the corn casserole was yummy, the banana pudding was great. This is probably the best brisket I have ever had, and definitely ask for the mustard sauce. It was divine! We were seated immediately, and the staff was very nice. The... More

I am in the BBQ business and love trying new BBQ places. We go to North Georgia once a year and try a new place every time, mainly because there isn't anything worth going back to a second time. This place's proteins were better than any I've had up here, especially the brisket and burnt ends which is a good... More

We really enjoyed our meal. 6 people for $68.00 plus tip. Friendly and quick service. Highly recommend. Located on Main Street so if you are parked near the square, it's within walking distance.
