St Paddy's Day at a Wonderfully Authentic Irish Pub

The four of us were on vacation in Ellijay and decided to drive over to Dahlonega for real Irish food lunch on St Patricks Day and we were not dissapointed. The atmosphere was very festive with a bagpiper out front & acoustic Irish music inside. The Irish accented waiter was prompt. I started... read more

We drove up to Dahlonega to eat at the Smith House, only to be disappointed that it was only open for lunch. However, the desk clerk at the Smith House Inn happily recommended Shenanigans, which was a short walk up the street. It is a smaller version of Mcguire's Pub in Destin, Florida with a little less atmosphere. But it... More

Last Saturday we went back to Shenanigans to enjoy some Irish pub food for St. Paddy's weekend. Once again we were not disappointed! The service and the food were stellar!!! Terrie was our server and we wanted for nothing!! Lyndsey Hinkle entertained us and it was another great little trip to Dahlonega. So happy to have this gem only 30... More

IT was a warm sunny spring day. We were glad to be out of the city. Stopped here for lunch. The menu looked wonderful. However, the plae as packed so we had to wait for a table. No problem. Understandable. But the seating area is small and has patio type tables with FOLDING CHAIRS. Not comfortable at all...not the comfortable... More

We planned to eat dinner at the upscale restaurant just off the square, but with a play tonight it was packed and the wait was almost an hour. We walked over to Shenanigan's instead, and we are so glad we did. I had bangers and mash and it was as close to authentic as I've ever had. My husband had... More

I only ate one meal at Shenanigans. It was early in the evening, but it was already filling up. I had the special of the evening, a shrimp dish with a garlic white wine sauce. The food was OK, t the server was personable and friendly, and the meal arrived lightening fast. I would like to go back and try... More

This is the kind of place we like to find when traveling. A favorite hangout for locals and great place to kick back and relax. Shenanigans is a block off of the main town Square in a renovated wooden 2-story house. The entrance is in the back and is what would have been considered the basement of the original structure.... Went to listen to the band after eating dinner. There is also a restaurant upstairs, but the bar and the band was downstairs, so that is where we were as we had already had dinner else where. It room is somewhat small, with tight seating, but the drinks were good and the band was OK, we went for the good... More

During a recent visit to Dahlonega on Valentines Day weekend, we were looking for a quick bite on a cold night. Being in a casual mood we weren't looking for anything too fancy. Stumbled on Shananigans, and was pleasantly surprised. It is a pub, and decent on at that. The selection of adult beverages was more than adequate, even a... More

Shenanigan's in Dahlonega is a great pub with great food. Atmosphere: The downstairs has a cozy pub with low, comfortable bar stools. The upstairs has sun lit dining rooms. There is an enclosed porch, heated in the winter thankfully, and an open deck that is labeled "Pet friendly". This gives you a variety of atmospheres for dining. Food: The food... More
