This restaurant is a local favorite. Ma gootch is long gone but the food still is satisfying country fare. Breakfast has all the regular menu items one would expect and a flood of coffee. Their lunch buffet is good and the wait staff is friendly, and usually busy. I have noticed they have specials posted on their marquee out front... More

Average food and service. Mothing to brag about but not bad. Would return but not often. Prices are competitive as well.

My wife and I decided to try JW Reed's since it was supposed to be a "new" restaurant. Well.... I don't think it was new. It looked pretty old and lacked character. We had tried Ma Gooch's several months ago and decided never to return. So, anyway.... We ordered breakfast; my wife also ordered coffee although she never likes restaurant... More

We were trying to find somewhere for breakfast and decided to give JW Reed's a try. The layout of the place is slightly odd and quite a few tables had not been cleared but there were several large groups in so we stayed. The food, when it came, was really good - great French toast, biscuits etc and it all... More

A friend and I decided to try this restaurant last night. The name is no longer Ma Gooch's, but rather JW Reed's. I had the blackened mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My friend got grilled salmon. Upon request, we got rolls as bread. We drank draft beer with our meals. The food was excellent. Our server, Whitley, was... More

The staff was very friendly and the service was fast, but the food was mediocre. We were hungry and wanted to try something new, but not something I would go out of my way for.

Food not very good. Canned. Overpriced for what is available. Misses the mark in trying to be a "home cooking" restaurant.

We always made it a point to eat here numerous times a year but once they change the way things were done nothing is the same. It was so wonderful to go through the line get your food ( and it was wonderful food) then seat yourself. The Fried Chicken was always so good, now you have to wait almost... More

The food is awful here for the price you pay it's a waste of money I will never go back here again. If you want a good place to eat creekside deli next door you won't be sorry

3 1/2 Stars: Name change (now JW Reed's) but same folks running it. Still have good veggies, fried chicken, and iced tea. Have added a few higher-priced menu items (i.e. moving towards "casual dining" and slightly away from "country cooking"), but haven't tried those yet. Have also been serving alcohol for past year or so. Not a radical change, but... More
