After a visit to Foxfire up the road we drove into Clayton for a bite to eat and discovered the Grapes & Beans Cafe. The special sandwich and daily soup were delicious, the casual atmosphere refreshing and the service quick and Southern Polite, a great place, highly recommended.

Delicious. Veg dishes tasty. Everything so fresh. Delightful. Great setting. Liked the sea turtles on the ceiling.

Went here for Sunday brunch. Food was decent (but I would say just above average quality) and reasonably priced. There was not a huge selection on the menu though; I think the menu varies by the day. The service was great and accommodating (I had a party of 10, and we were able to sit together and have split checks).... More

The day we went there was mass confusion in the kitchen; took w a y too long for our food to come out. That aside....my greek chicken sandwich was amazing. Loved the kalamata olives on it. My wife had the quiche du jour which, too, was excellent. Our server, Dominique, displaced some of the poor service by giving us some... More

This is a great place to stop in for lunch when you are in the Georgia mountains. It is a local hangout on Savannah street in the heart of Clayton, with a simple but tasty menu. Basic interior, but tasty food in a clean environment--I could easily envision this eatery in a college town someplace. Try the turkey slaw sandwich... More

Stopped in for lunch after hiking. Very casual, order at counter. Food is very yummy and fresh. We had vegetarian sweet potato soup, smoked turkey/split pea soup. And split a roasted vegetable sandwich. It all tasted wonderful. There is an outdoor dining area in the back too. Nothing fancy. Prices below $10 for meal.

Grapes and Beans is reliably good. The food is prepared with care and with great attention to its wholesomeness. Even though whatever you choose to eat will be delicious, you can also be sure it's good for you! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, but a bit quirky in a very good kind of way. The vine covered outdoor patio... More
