We have been going to this restaurant for decades, beginning in the 90's when it was called Honto's. The current owners serve authentic Chinese food which is fresh and delicious. We love their salt and pepper squid, ginger and onion crab, sauteed snow pea leaves, and whole fish. Don't eat off the "american" chinese menu, try something different. All the... More

Although they serve Dim Sum all week long, the selection on weekends is quite extensive, and always fresh and delicious. This is our favorite Dim Sum restaurant and we go frequently. It is true that the carts come out in random order and there seems to be no pattern of where the carts go, but then waiting patiently and taking... More

The food, if you can finally get some, is very good but the service is horrible. Slow, neglectful and scatter-brained service can try your patience. The dim sum can be good but is a hit and miss. (Not our first visit here.) Very first thing we were shown the sweets cart. Then a good dim sum cart came by. And... More

Especially good authentic Chinese restaurant. Tremendous portions, well priced and delicious. Shared fantastic seared tiger shrimp dish with green onions - our favorite dish by far. Also sliced beef with snow peas very special. Staff very attentive and helpful. Place very simple - not fancy. Frequented by many families. Check it out!

You know how some Chinese restaurants wax and wane in quality over time? Well, a while ago, when I went to Royal China it was definitely not waxing, but this time it is waxed to a bright shine, to over use this idiom. Maybe it's best to go to authentic Chinese restaurants only for dinner or on the weekends, and... More

The food in this restaurant is very similar to what I used to eat in NYC Chinatown, which is a nice compliment. The Mu Shu chicken or pork is excellent, egg fu yung is the real deal as is the chow fun and virtually all other dishes are spot on. They also have a current 2 lobster special for $25.00.... More

Been here 38 years, finally re-connected with this Chinese restaurant after several incarnations. Their dim sum is excellent. The full menu, probably one of the most extensive in the city, has every dish I ever had elsewhere...with reasonable prices, and fresh ingredients...service, very good.

Not to many Americans know about Chinese banquets. Let me assure you, they are royal treats. Royal China has four or five different banquet options and they a worth every penny. So, if you have a group (4 and more) and wish to try something different from the traditional menu, you should definitely try it. Every time I have out... More

We visited Royal China fairly early on a Wednesday night based on reviews on several websites. We had never been, even though years ago we had patronized its predecessor in this location, Honto. We walked in the door a little after 5:30 p.m. and we were the first people in the restaurant, which I conservatively estimate could seat 300 people.... More

Sunday brunch and the place is filled--locals who clearly have found a restaurant that serves food approximating what one can find in China. No alcohol. Inexpensive for such a feast (approx. $10/person)
