How Can You Resist??

The Frosty Caboose is exactly that-a red train caboose, stationary on a spur track, adjacent to the real-deal train tracks. They serve local favorite, Greenwood Home Made Ice Cream. My wife and I visited the Frosty Caboose on Saturday night as a special treat. We arrived at 9:30 and there was a group of people congregated outside but we had no wait. I originally ordered the banana split but they were out of bananas so I shifted to the Brownie Sundae. The Banana pudding ice cream was good, cookies... More

I am a sucker for kitsch. If your restaurant serves lasagna on a trampoline or all your food is named after David Lynch films, I will most likely dine at your establishment. So, ice cream served from a once functional train caboose is just gimmicky enough to pull me in. That and I had a Scoutmob. My wife and I... More

One of Chamblee's treasures. I love the butter pecan ice cream. Take a friend and enjoy a scoop before the summer is over.

When you get the craving for real ice cream and not just the dumbed down grocery store version, this is the spot. They serve locally made Greenwood's ice cream which is buttery, creamy and likely a sin to eat. A milkshake could be a mortal sin. Lines can get long on weekends but the owner and staff are friendly to... More

This is a great little place. Got shakes and a Sunday. There is a mini cone for little ones free. My littlest one loved it! We went with the family. My only complaint is that there are no chairs or tables to sit down. But in the back of the parking lot there are some wooden planters and train tracks.... More

Such great ice cream, fresh toppings, and service with a smile. What more do you need? Oh and it's served from a train caboose. WIN WIN. Love this place!

This is a small, family owned and operated ice cream stand right next to the Norfolk & Southern Railway tracks in Historic Chamblee, GA. The business is inside a specially-modified real caboose. This is a stand-up place - literally; that is, there is no seating. You belly-up to the order window get your desert, and eat it outside. There are... More

It's so hard not to stop in for a scoop or two after a relaxing lunch at Vintage Pizza across the street. Fun place to go, with so many choices.

Whether you live in the are or in nearby Brookhaven, Dunwoody or Sandy Springs, you should check out the Frosty Caboose. Built inside of an old Caboose, the ice cream shop serves Chamblee made Greenwood Ice Cream. You can't beat the local connection. Rumor has it the owners actually had the caboose shipped in from somwhere out west. Any way... More
