For the past several years, our family would eat at The Fruit Jar Cafe on the way back from our daughter's soccer games. Today we stopped on our way back from Atlanta. It saddened us to find that The Fruit Jar Cafe had closed. Rats!! Did the owners retire? Just wonder. These folks were awesome. We always looked forward to... More

It was a fine place to stop. Just like home- but they closed. We enjoyed the "bean bar" and the fried apples. I wish the wonderful owners the very best in their future endeavours.

I liked it but my grandfather loves it. We try to make it every time he is in town.. Our favorite part was the bean bar. When we came they had a choice of all you can eat pintos, limas, or chili. All three were delicious. The country fried steak was delicious as well and very tender. The meal was... More

This place has really gone downhill fast since it changed hands. They are due to close in a couple of days so I understand. I feel really bad for the new owners, but I just don't think they stayed on top of day to day things very well like the previous owner. The quality of there food was never top... More

This little hometown place is close tosix motels. The menu is not long but all is home town cooking. The catfish is goood and the BBQ just fine. They have a bean bar and great sides. The fried green tomatoes are tasty. One cannot go wrong here so just enjoy.

Go here only if you like REAL country cooking - not the Cracker Barrel stuff that just pretends to be home cooking. Don't miss the bean bar - three kinds of beans, along with all the cornbread you care to eat. Country fried steak sandwich is my favorite. One word of caution: a busload of senior citizens from a local... More

I went to the Fruit Jar Cafe, and I had the chicken-fried steak sandwich. It was amazing! I had never had chicken-fried steak before. It was hot, tender, juicy, and crispy. A tomato on the sandwich complements it perfectly. The prices and portions were very reasonable, and the service was great. It has a very quaint and cosy atmosphere.

My husband and I are staying at the Ramada and saw their menu in our room so we thought we'd try it. The food was good, our server was very friendly and the blackberry cobbler with ice cream was awesome!
