I was looking for bakery cafe that was rated here on trip advisor, but when I got into town found it was closed for repairs. Plates was on the corner so I gave it a try. They had a nice assortment of food and I opted for the pot roast, sweet potato casserole, green beans and broccoli casserole. All was... More

We ate upstairs on a Saturday night as part of a large (35?) group. I had the Charleston Shrimp and Grits and I must say it was amazing. I'm certainly going back for more. Only difficulty was that service was slow and the meals trickled out from the small dumbwaiter. Staff was too light for the size of our group... More

Although you could dine at Plate's for any occasion, it is a great place to take a special date or for a romantic evening. The food is excellent! Local chef uses local ingrediaents. Nice wine list and good champagne. The salmon was cooked perfect and side dishes added to the taste. The dining room is very open and beautiful windows... More

Very good food. Atmosphere is just fine. Service was good. I would take out of town friends there. Parking is good at nights, but can be difficult at lunch.

The food at Plates on the Square is EXCELLENT! Not only is the food excellent but is a great value too. Three of us dined and we had a BBQ sandwich with a side, grilled turkey Rueben with a side, and a burger and fries for about $25 with white linen napkins and a full place setting. This is our... Fantastic place to eat, local chef using local ingredients. Try the desserts. Steaks were very good.

This is not the first time I've eaten at Plates, but it is the first time I try their pot roast ( I usually have salmon). If it's a rainy and cool day and you just want some great home-cooked style food, try their pot roast. It's yummy!

What a lovely surprise! Every bite was delectable. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Loved the flavors and one of the healthier meals we've had on this trip.

For those familiar with Carrollton's history, the Carrollton Square was once dominated by Craig Davison - a brilliant chef who's cornerstone restaurant was Pearl's Café. He was tragically taken from us much too soon, but left behind a legacy of good food and culture in the downtown area. When Plates opened in 'the building that started it all,' they knew... More
