from the street it doesn't look like all that much. once inside it quickly reveals itself as as seafood market more than a place to get a meal. from those ice packed chests that line the front wall a small, i'm sure make shift kitchen, in the back batters and fries the fresh seafood to the peak of perfection. tasty... more
the shrimp are large and fresh. the smoked trout dip is heavenly, adn hte boned trout grills up nicely in a flash. this is a great place for take out as well as picking up for supper later on. the fried grouper sandwich was perfect. more
Really fresh tuna here! Quite a surprise for a cook out in the mountains. We went back the next day but they had sold out of shrimp so we got some great boned trout. The trout was the best I have ever tasted. more
Tucked away in in the high country at the Georgia Tennessee border is a jewel of a seafood emporium, Southern Highlands Seafood. A fresh product liimits the hours here as they are only open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. And when it's gone the lights dim as there wil be no more until next weeks run down to the Gulf... more
