If you want fresh great tasting seafood in a unique setting this is the place to go (Its half seafood market, half short order takeout). If you want atmosphere with your meal then you wont like it. My wife and I went on Friday Oct 11th around 5:30. We ordered then sat outside on the wooden picnic tables. Our food... More

Fresh, amazing seafood in the North Georgia Mountains… What?? Southern Highlands Seafood specializes in just that! Although this is a real hole in the wall, the food is top notch. Nestled in Blue Ridge, this little seafood market/somewhat restaurant cooks up some really tasty food! We come here for the shrimp and fish. The shrimp is plump and juicy and... More

I drove here because I wanted some seafood. To find out that they are only opened Thurs-Sat. I was not happy.

They're hard to catch open and with everything on the menu in stock, but if you can get them mid-day on the weekends, before the rush, it's incredibly delicious. Like a fine dining restaurant at the beach, the platters are either taken home or enjoyed on a modest screened porch right off of the highway but it is the best... More

Like to get our fresh shrimp here. Pick what you want and they will cook for you if you don't want to.

This place is a surprise! Looks kind of like a service station from the outside but the seafood was wonderful! When up in the mountains I wasn't expecting "fresh" seafood. I was totally surprised! Shrimp, scallops, fish...all excellent and cooked just right!

Unfortunately, we called the restaurant at 7:15 pm, and it was already closed! We were recommendes this seafood restaurant and we are so sorry it wasn't open! Their hours are 10 am - 7 pm. Maybe next trip! We were told the owner goes to Florida often for his fresh seafood.

I was skeptical the first time I pulled up to Southern Highlands Seafood. It's a little hole in the wall, more a seafood market than a restaurant. You can buy your fish and they will wrap it up and put it on ice for you to take it with you, or they will cook it for you if you prefer.... More

Looks like a shack and not really a restaurant...it is a seafood shop with fresh fish, shrimp, etc that you can buy and take home to cook, BUT you can also have them cook you a To Go meal and take it home or walk outside and eat at a picnic table. They know how to perfectly cook fried oysters,... More
