I have been to this restaurant four times and each time it gets better. My personal favorite is the Whistle Stop sandwich which is a BLT with fried green tomatoes served with a remoulade dressing on the side. The best part of the meal are the desserts. I have had a taste of quite a few, but my... read more

This review is based of this restaurant. Going on a date and picked this restaurant based on location and the +150 "great reviews". My date said you know how to pick a restaurant. I said I never been but I saw and read the reviews I mention that they received over 150 reviews. as we walked to the restaurant. We... More

A recent article was published noting the "best" restaurant in each of Florida's counties.....this restaurant was listed as the best for Sumnter County, so we decided instead of stopping along the highway for inferior food we would head for this spot........Wow, it was delicious......great choice of southern favs.....and we were seated next to the extensive dessert display......the cakes and pies... We had heard great things and were encouraged to try the Southern Cotilliion. Our Pastor was visiting, so we made reservations. We were greeted and seated by a delightful hostess. The restaurant only seats 48 guests so reservations are a smart way to go. The food and service was outstanding. I had the catfish and cheesy grits which I had... More

A MUST visit for anyone in the area. Superior service topped by flawless dishes made for a memorable date night. Fried green tomatoes were incredible...corn bread - OMG...pork loin and fried chicken. Incredible. And the desserts...?! I think that's when I told the waitress that I "hated" her. LOL! Nutta Butta pie is not for the faint of heart -... More

You wouldn't know it based on the surrounding neighborhood, but this cafe is so charming inside you don't want to leave. Antiques, lovingly collected by the owner, are displayed and in use here. Mismatched china, silverware and gorgeous tablecloths under glass add to the charm. The service is excellent...the wait staff is bustling all the time. Southern fare of fried... More

We have been to the Cotillion about a half dozen times over the last four years. Decided to go for lunch to avoid the crowds, mistake. arrived about 1:00 PM place was very busy, it only seats aprox. 42 people. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife hade the open faced meatloaf. Both were very good, for the... More

Sorry but we did not enjoy our experience. The food was just average and nothing great. Our friends said the grits were good but not to my liking! Won' t go back!

Authentic Southern-style cuisine in a small quaint restaurant that is always packed. Reservations are a must. We live in the Villages, and we love to take guests visiting us to the Cotillion. It's a nice change from typical Villages fare! Splurge on dessert.

My mom and I heard great things and decided to go on a Tuesday. We gave our name and waited 30 minutes (as told by a staff person we would). The crab cake sandwich was the worst I have ever had (it is my choice whenever available, and I have had several dozen different versions), this was the worst because... More
