Fun restaurant with a great staff!

I recently went to Howleys in a party of six celebrating a friend's birthday. The birthday girl picked the location and I made the reservation. Olivia made the reservation on the phone. Truth be told this is an average operation with average food and average service. They are currently benefiting from being listed on a bogus top 10 list. Within a few blocks are two restaurants-Flanigan's and Dixie Bar and Grill that are virtually interchangeable with Howley's. This is a prime example of some hipster consumers trying to extrapolate an ordinary diner... More

While this is a very busy place, with people waiting in line, the food was only mediocre and the roaches kept coming out of the bench I sat on and crossed the table. There are many restaurants at this price point that are clean and have great food. They need to clean up their act.

Howley's Restaurant is all about Old Florida. Located on S Dixie Hiway In West Palm Beach, Fla., it has retained its original red vinyl chairs and bar stools. American comfort food is very good here. All the egg fishes we had were made, as ordered. The Macaroni and Cheese delicious. Next visit will be lunch because their Mestloaf looks so... More

I had passed Howley's for a number of years, and finally decided to stop in for a meal. It's been around since 1950, and the ambience is of a period diner/luncheonette. But while the food is "American comfort," the quality is exceptional. The onion rings are the best I've ever had, and the fried green tomatoes come with a remoulade... More

Had dinner here last night. As always it was delicious . I had the crab cake sandwich with a side of mac and cheese . I have to say, I think it was the best crab cake I've had thus far . The mac and cheese is really good too. Tastes like my nanny used to make. I wish I... More

I'm in there allllllll the time i mean all the time so i just wanted to give these guys a shoutout. My faves: patata burrito, veggie lasagna, deviled eggs, potato skins, greek salad, portobello sandwich. Don't even get me started on breakfast.

Howell's is a diner with excellent food and great people watching. I slightly prefer the City Diner which is a few blocks north--that staff seems more together and to be having more fun. Nevertheless, I eat here a lot and always enjoy it.

We had to wait for a table, not too long 20 minutes. They were busy. Service was very good. Food good too. Only trouble was while we were waiting for food. We saw a cockroach. It quickly disappeared behind the woodwork. That made me unhappy and we will not return.

You can not go wrong here. The comfort food available is very well prepared, generous portions, and quite delicious. My personal favorite is the tuna salad prepared daily from fresh tuna. There is nothing to compare if you enjoy tuna salad.
