Great food and nostalgia

The very first time I went to City Diner I actually wondered if the place had really been there since the fifties. The retro decor is that convincing including some still-working tiny screen b&w TVs. It's actually been there for about 8 years but the owners trace their roots back to a 1982 fine... read more

City diner is an enjoyable place that i have been going to for many years now. The scenery in the restaurant is very vintage and interesting. The food is also great. I must eat!!

Great restaurant with a fantastic array of menu choices-the ones you would expect to find in a 'diner', plus a lot of special dishes prepared by a very competent kitchen under the direction of an obviously talented manager/owner/chef! But, great food is not all, this is a fun, 'retro' atmosphere celebrating the era on each side of the 50's, lots... More

The California Rueben was really good as were so many other menu items we tried in out three visits. The tomatoe basil soup was very acidic and had a bite to it and not in a good way. Deserts were good but actually look much better than they taste and I think, overpriced. Entree prices were moderate. Service was very... More

This is a small diner near antiques row in west palm beach. It is decorated inside with lots of old memorabilia and has plenty to look at over dinner. All the food we had was great. They have a pretty big menu with nightly specials. We had some lobster dumplings as an appetizer and they were amazing. My wife had... More

Fun environment, great staff and great food! The breakfast is excellent, as you might expect. You can request hash browns extra crispy and that's just how they come out--the cook actually cares! I also really recommend the salads. The Cobb is my favorite--its has all the best ingredients.

Food is average at best. Heart shaped pancakes were really cool for Valentine's Day. They serve them year round. We ordered French toast, bacon, sausage links, pancakes, coffee and orange juice. The place is really awesome inside with the old decor and just the layout of the place seemed to work. It's a shame the food wasn't any better than... More

We love City Diner because of the atmosphere, license plates, ceiling hangings, black and white TV playing, hot food served HOT and very nice waitstaff. We go there oten because it's like "home" to us.. There is a telephone booth outside with Clark Kent aka Superman inside the booth. You have to love this place and best of all is... More

Went here for lunch and after looking at the menu, I decided on the triple decker sandwich with turkey. I upgraded for an additional 1.95 for fries. Very good sandwich. The turkey was moist, the Bacon, Lettuce and tomato were fresh and the fries were hot. Hot fries is a big pet peeve and they delivered. Service was very good... More
