Riotous evening of seafood and song

Joey's is a friendly seafood market doubling as an offbeat restaurant/cabaret. Our group was seated on time and the drinks soon followed! We were 12, and spirits were high. The waiter/owner, a character in his own right, caught our drift and just kept pouring. By the time the food arrived, we... read more

Vero's best kept hidden secret. We had the best fresh fish tonight in a quaint charming seafood market which transforms into a dining room for lunch and dinner. Our entrée of hog snapper and blackened grouper was prepared to perfection, not to mention the Chesapeake oysters. The atmosphere was charming and the staff was very friendly. There even was a... If you want crowded, loud, stressful, confused staff, slow, inconsistent food, and very very expensive, this is the place for you. Seemed way in over their head, not even a proper kitchen - I noticed 2 burners to serve many people. That being said, the oysters, clams and salmon dish was excellent - other stuff not so much. I am... More

This place is more like a daily meeting place for Joey's family and friends. We were made to feel like outsiders , as we watched both the owner and his wife who even sat at a few tables to chat with their friends , and family ,that are probably why this place is still standing. The food was horrible .... More

We had a light lunch and had the special. It was very good but you didn't get much for the price. I had soup and salad (15.95) and the salad was very small but good.

We had a reservation. They had booked too many tables vs what they could actually serve. Waited half hour beyond our reservation time, which might have been ok, but then another HOUR AND A HALF for our entrees. And then 5 mins before our entrees arrived (not all at once either), they turned off the lights so the owner could... More

My aunt invited me for dinner today. The food was great and so was the service.I had a superb lobster salad to start with which was excellent and had some strawberries at the bottom. The Stone crab was very fresh. For desert I had a tiramisu. Everything was great. I strongly recommend it.

This laid back quiet type of place an some excellent food. Most of the people take out but there are about 4 gables to eat in. They do excellent shrimp and other seafood dishes and their salads are also excellent. They probably need a little pr to get better noticed but this is a good spot"a sleeper place".
