Love Authentic New England seafood. Then A Bit of Boston is the place to be. Come on in and see why customers travel all the way from Ft Myers just to have a bowl of our New England Clam Chowder. Lobster rolls, Large Premium "Sea" Scallops, Crab Cakes made with mix we have shipped in from "Rhode Island". Even our Hot dogs are served on a fresh New England style roll. Have a craving for Whole Belly Clams, oh yes, they are from "Ipswich". We believe in fresh authentic food. Over the years we have had requests for other regional foods. So we have added a few like our Philly Cheese-steak. Anyone that knows anything about a real Philly Cheese-steak knows it must be served on an Amoroso roll. That's right we have Fresh Amoroso Bakery rolls shipped in. Last but not least we serve a good old NY style Fish Fry....Stop by ..Give us a try..We promise..You will be a regular...

Friend recommended I go since I am from Boston. Very small unassuming - hole in the wall in a sense as never would have found if not looking for it. I got the Fried Clams and there were excellent - and a good price - the freshly made onion rings and coleslaw were also good. The menu has fish... read more

Today was our first visit to this unassuming restaurant in south Venice. I started with a bowl of clam chowder that was arguably the best I have ever had. My wife and I both had the cod sandwich, lightly deep fried. It was served on a toasted bun which I enjoyed. The fish was good, although I don't think the... More

No, I am not from New England, but I do know and like shrimp. I have never had "red" shrimp but when I asked they said they were lobster like. I can say they are my favorite shrimp ever. Very much tasting like lobster, and excellently blackened, The place is very cafeteria like, but service was friendly and the food... More

The place is located in an unobtrusive spot along 41N. Having driven by it hundreds of times, we finally stopped for late afternoon lunch. We were NOT disappointed. I'm a New England Clam Chowder snob having spent 15 years living there! To my surprise they delivered on great tasting and textured clam chowder. The prices are quite reasonable, only $9... More

We always return to this restaurant for the seafood. Fresh fish of all kinds. Yesterday our party had the full bodied clams and homemade onion rings. One had the wonderful shrimp, and the best clam chowder around. You can't miss at this restaurant. Haddock, scallops, all yummy. You can find it by looking for the yellow "Dans Fans" sign and... First time in since a change of ownership. I liked the new menu, a lot more items. The new décor is very easy on the eyes and the clams were excellent. I was savoring each mouthful and they tasted like they just came out of the water. My wife even got a piece of the Boston Cream Pie. Excellent.

Our server, # 7 on the receipt, was dresses as a bearded leprechaun because it was St. Paddy’s Day! Her service was excellent throughout the entire meal. My wife and I shared a bowl of creamy clam chowder. It’s definitely the best in Venice! My wife’s grilled, lightly blackened haddock had a nice char to add to the flavor. The... More

Since I am from Maine but have retired here in Florida, I never order clams cause they are always the strips and I prefer whole bellied, and I never order lobster, mainly because of the price. A friend highly recommended a Bit of Boston and my visit there was more than I had ever thought it would be. Now the... More

I was in Florida this past January and was looking for a bit of home and boy did I find it. I absolutely love the clam chowder, the cheesy steak sandwich and OMG the homemade whoopie pie, the title says it all...L O V E. The staff was definitely friendly and efficient! A must on my next trip down :)
