What a surprise find - should have tried years ago

My wife and I were planning on another restaurant, but my friend has told me many times how good Scamotz is. As we were driving by, did a quick loop around the block and parked right out front. Very small, family feeling restaurant. It feels comfortable. Sever was very pleasant and friendly. I... read more

I'll skip all the other comments and get to the reason for being here. The food is made with love. Every bite is an exercise in enjoying romance between the chef and his food. To experience this is a profound moment. The salads are exceptional and much more than a single person can eat. The slightly higher cost (geez people... More

In a word: outstanding. Robert greeted us courteously and immediately seated my wife and I at the "romantic" table. The salad was a revelation, with their house dressing that perfectly complimented the greens. Garlic knots were fresh and hot and the olive oil provided for dipping was replete with fresh herbs and just the right amount and types of spices.... More

July 5, I had some family over and we to order a large meatball and sausage pizza from Scamotz's in Venice Florida. When we got the pizza home it looked disappointing. There was very little topping, which Scamotz's charged $4.00 for the meatball and $4.00 for the sausage on a base price of $17.50 for the pizza. When we tasted... More

Great, gourmet, european-style pizza. Eat outside in the grape arbor side yard. Salads are also very good. Split a salad and a pizza with a bottle of wine. What's not to like? It is small, but that make it charming and intimate. We go here one a month or more.

Ordered a small individual Margarita Pizza (fresh tomatoes, basil and cheese). Asked for extra basil due to the fact last time I was there had same pizza with very little basil. Menu says fresh basil and patio is lined up with many basil plants. No shortage of basil. Pizza still had very little basil..no more than previous time. When check... More

We visited Scamotz one evening after it was recommended to us by a friend. We were very happy with the pizza & garlic knots. It was a comfortable environment & we will definitely return. It doesn't seem to be easy to find thin crusted pizza in Florida but their pizza is good.

We did get great service but it's priced way to high. The sauce on both pizzas eere really sweet. Abd the balsamic dressing for the caprese was chunky and sweet

This was our FAVORITE restaurant after our last visit. We went twice. So we were really anxious to go back on this visit. The wait staff is SO very friendly, and the garlic knot rolls were delicious, but what we came for was the awesome pizza we remembered from our prior visits. We ordered a fairly standard 12

I don't care for the interior decoration of the restaurant inside and out, so therefore no points for that. The pizza beats it all. Good crust, very good sauce, great toppings. A little pricy at $32 for 16" large pie with 4 toppings, but very tasty. Good even on the 2nd day! Will return!
