If you're looking for reasonably priced home cooking, the Mason Jar is where you want to be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The pies are also great!

I was so excited to see a "southern style" cafe in Umatilla. I had visions of fried chicken, country fried steak, roast beef falling into tender pieces, spicy meat loaf, chicken and dumplings.....all the great things you used to be able to find in every tiny town in Florida. We try to be fair, and recognize that every restaurant can... More

Knotty pine booths nearly filled far after lunch time on a weekday. Generous portions of "Granny's" best chicken fried steak, pickled beets, green bean done right, the list continues. Servers are bustling, attentive and as fast as possible. Great place for very comfortable comfort food from Granny. Remember, Granny knows cookin'; she knows nothing about diet, saturated fat or cholesterol.... More

By appearance alone, you would expect the most perfect comfort foods to be served. The fried chicken is very good but the side dishes are below average. Mashed potatoes taste instant, green beans taste canned with a little ham hock thrown in. The biscuits taste frozen. I was excited to visit this place but left somewhat disappointed.

Very cute restaurant. Southern cooking. Large meal portions. Husband had liver and onions and I had hamburger steak. Others had the fried chicken, with each meal you get your choice of three side dishes. Everyone said that their meals were very good except a few said the liver was too thick but other than that was very good. Also served... More

We had breadfast at the Mason Jar. It was the weekend and there was a small short wait. It is decent country cooking but nothing that made us want to come back. Restaurant is old and needs a lift.

My family loves the Mason Jar Restaurant. The food is down home country cooking and it's at the top of it's game. Go for the all you can eat fried chicken on Sundays, you won't be disappointed.

The decor is rustic and suites the southern style cooking. We went in for lunch...burgers were good, but the fries were ick. I'd go back to try breakfast or dinner though. I hear their fried chicken is very good.

Visited the Mason Jar for the first time on a Wednesday for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. They had good breakfast specials, the food was deliciously home made and the service fast. We decided to try it again on a Thursday, not so good. Service was average, specials were much higher and the food was rushed(eggs were under cooked). There... More
