My husband and I always visit the Captain when in the area. Yes, the building is a little worn and could use a remodeling, but the food and service are very good. The Oysters Rockafeller are the best I've had. The stuffed lobster couldn't be better, and many of the other dishes are great, also. We've never had a bad... more

Immediately upon walking in the door and throughout the entire meal there was this strong musky smell, so yeah, that was kind of hard to get past. The hostesses were engaged in a conversation that was apparently more important to finish than to acknowledge my boyfriend and I, so I just interrupted them and told them why we were there... more

My husband and I delight in going to Captain Kosmakos whenever we are back in town. My family had been going there since 1983 and then I introduced my husband to it in recent years and once he tasted the dressed lobster he was hooked! We love how "old school" the deco is, it hasnt changed a bit! And we... more

Have been visiting the Captains for 15 years. The early bird specials are a great deal. The crab cakes are better than the lump crab cakes from Chesapeake Crap company in Baltimore. more

Entering Capt. Kosmakos the Hostess was talking on the phone with friends, after a 8 min wait I was seated. I ordered the highly recommended oysters rockefeller, they were served on hot platter of rock salt with the smallest oysters I have ever seen, the size of a pencil eraser. Next came my House salad with more dressing than salad. The... more

Been going to Kosmakos for 3 years and the last trip will be my last. Food was cold$, Steak was tough. Reason given was they had a 75 guest wedding party. Didn't change the $200. + bill I had. Will never go there again. more

Our dinner at Captain Kosmakos on St. Petersburg Beach, Fl., was less than satisfactory. It started with our party of 10, dropping in without reservations. And that was our fault. They did their best to accommodate us, splitting us in to two adjacent booths. We had a waiter named Aubry, that just didn't do all we though he should. I... more

This restaurant is absolutely a must!!! We are anxiously waiting to go there again and hopefully nothing will change. The food ws great! The service was great! The bands that played were great!!! It had great decor and was very resonable, both the food and the drinks. No cover charge for a club with a live band? Unheard of these... more

This place has been around for a long time and it shows! It either needs to be torn down or renovated in a big way. The dining room is carpeted in dark green (filthy) broadloom that is reminicent of the 70's and the windows are covered in grime. I had heard nice things about the restaurant but I think it... more
