I'm a New Mexican native and when we spoke with a local concerning Mexican fare I was skeptical because in the process she mentioned 'Tex-Mex' which is NOT Mexican nor authentic, in my opinion. She said this was the best spot for Mexican in St. Pete Beach, and I would have to say, probably some of the best I have... More

Arrived at about 6:00 and walked down a narrow space between the bar and tables along the wall. Bar and inside tables were mostly occupied, so we proceeded to the outdoor seating area which was quite comfortable. Not the optimal path as we had to walk through the serving area at the kitchen window. We were seated promptly and our... More

Parking in front of VIP is nearly impossible, and we seriously almost got backed into trying to find a spot. We finally figured out that there's more parking and outdoor eating space out back. It's all a little makeshift as you have to enter thru the back door, walk thru the kitchen and on into the front dining area, but... More

If you are looking for fine upscale cuisine....this not for you...HOWEVER if tasty, freshly made, seasoned to perfection Mexican food is your desire.....this is the place. For openers, their charming/friendly waitress brought us salsa that was excellent...crisp/salty/chips for dipping started this great meal. While we always try one of the daily specials...I am partial to fish tacos...grilled fresh fish..cilantro....lime....grated cabbage...and... More

Small beach bar with great food. Friendly place to go for locals and tourists. Sweetwater 420 and Goose Island on tap.

Margaritas and pork enchiladas ! After 5pm expect a wait. The place is tiny and there are tables that will be free but you can't sit at them if you don't have a party of 5+. Don't expect charming attention either as the servers are hustling and seem cranky. Have a drink and relax. The food makes it all worthwhile.

This is the third time we have visited and each time the food has been great. First impressions can definitely be deceiving. Interior is dark and small, and most closely resembles that of a "dive" bar but the food is superb. Service is ok. This time the margaritas weren't the best but have been fine in the past so hoping... More

Get there early, not many tables. Food is worth the wait. Really enjoyed it. They don't accept reservations. You will wait outside in the sun so be prepared for that. Service was good.

This place in on my never visit again list. I walked in the front door and straight out the back. Its dark, dirty, and the atmosphere is tasteless. I didn't try the food as I wouldn't ever eat anything that was prepared in the filthy small kitchen we passed on our way to the patio. Avoid! Certainly not family friendly.

This is one of those places that unless you know, you won't know. Always busy, always consistent and tequila. What more can you ask for! A hole in the wall since 1970 something. those are the best! Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had.
