Great authenic food with good execution

This place seems to get bad reviews for service. I always make it my goal to befriend the servers as we think the food here is excellent. Definitely authentic. You can watch them prep in the kitchen through windows from the dining room. A couple of blocks from the 7th Ave strip, parking seems... read more

The food is absolutely 5 stars. Churrasco was the best we've had, but really everything we tried (down to the black beans and the chimichurri sauce) was amazing and so flavorful. Based on other reviews we didn't have high expectations for the atmosphere and service, but a slightly chilly waitress was totally fine since the food was so good. We... More

I am sure I have seen a place as poorly managed but I cannot for the life of me figure out where. It starts with the parking, which is a poorly marked half of a poorly lit dirt lot (the other half is paid parking, which is fun because it's got a pay box and unnumbered spots). And it actually... This was a random dinner stop while visiting Ybor City. The waitstaff seemed a little standoffish at first, but warmed up. The food was amazing even though we received the wrong appetizer. The meat was so good and I had leftovers for two more dinners. The plantains were great. Just one note: There is an item on the menu called... More

This was a random stop for dinner for us as we were on our way to Indian Shores. We walked in and were instantly reminded of a restaurant we ate at in Chile. The décor, tables, bar, staff. We ordered an empanda appetizer which was very good. We were semi hungry so we decided to order a meat platter for... More

If you've eaten in Argentina or Peru and are hungry for authentic, delicious and plentiful ceviche or a great parrillada (mixed grill with molleja/sweet breads!!!) then be sure to stop by el Puerto. A tiny tiny bit off the beaten path in Ybor City - worth the extra minute's wander to get to 5th Avenue and enjoy an AMAZING meal... More

We ended up at El Puerta after our first choice restaurant had over an hour wait. When we first arrived around 5:15 p.m,, there were only a couple tables occupied. It didn't look like much. After we were seated, the restaurant started to fill up. Similar to other reviews, we weren't really greeted when we walked in. The restaurant had... More

When we walked in we were not greeted. We actually walked up to a server and asked to be seated. After we were seated the service wasn't any better but the food itself was good. I wouldn't recommend this as a lunch option. Lunch for 2 people after tax and tip was $50.

The churrasco is what you get. Get it with whatever sides you want, but get the churrasco. I personally like the black beans for the side; they're some of the best I've ever had. We come here often for lunch; the food is consistently very good, and so is the service. It's not a fancy place, just a place with... More

We ate here last night. We had a picture of sangria and two dinners. Both dinners were enough to feed three each! Located in Ybor city on the corner of 5th Avenue and 17th Street with plenty of parking and lighting. Our server was attentive and kept checking on us. We ordered extra bread not realizing we would be charged... More
