This place is a hidden gem near Ybor. The owner is at the grill. Get the Baby Churrasco which is the typical skirt steak. If you're really hungry you can get the full Churrasco, but it's huge. The only thing to keep in mind that if the place is full it'll take a while to get you the food as... More

Well tonight, like some many other times at El Puerto, I ordered the El Puerto Ensalada with skirt steak. I can't seem to get the flavor of that steak out of my mind. And the dinner rolls. Hot with really soft butter to smear all over them. Be sure and ask for the chimichurri to also put on the rolls... More

For an appetizer, I recommend the camarones empanizado (shrimp in plantain) - you may not find this anywhere else. Then, get a skirt steak and relax. The warm bread and butter (also good with the churasco sauce) is inviting. The service is quite slow, but you can always walk up to the bar and grab a brew. The food is... More

Excellent food that is unique and delicious. Entrees are not your ordinary everyday dishes that are served at every restaurant in town. I have eaten at El Puerto 5 times and all of the meals have been very good and cooked to order from scratch. I would not plan on a fast meal at lunch time but the food is... More

Recommended by a downtown restaurant manager as 'the place' in Ybor City for a great meal, El Puerto is now a new favorite. In the tradition of fine Argentinian cuisine the meats were well seasoned and nicely grilled. The meal instantly had our attention. The conversation waned as we enjoyed the dinners placed before us. Modest decor and humble service... More

Off the beaten path but delicious Argentinian food and good wine! Huge portions (seriously--one meal can easily feed 2 people), friendly staff, casual atmosphere. The ceviche was excellent, as well.

I really liked the food but it took a really long time to get it. And one of my freinds had to send his steak back twice because it was wrong. But in the end the portions were HUGE and really good.

The food was really good. The portions were HUGE. The service was a little on the slow side but it was a very relaxed place. They weren't chasing us out the door. The servers primarily speak Spanish but I was with my Spanish family so it wasn't a problem. It's a couple of blocks off the beaten path but it's... More

After hearing and reading about the wonderful food at this restaurant, my husband and I decided to try it. We also read about the horrible service but decided to brave it for the sake of the food. Would have been nice, but, it didn't work out that way. We arrived at 8:30pm (closing time is midnight) and waited at the... More

I'm being nice with 4 stars. Food is 4.5 stars easy, probably 5, but service is a dismal 1, maybe 2 if I'm being super nice. So, average those out, and you get a 3, maybe 3.5. However, the food was so infinitely better than the service, that it's a weighted average, and I'll stick with 4. Now ends the... More
