Shot n Beer Place

Great place to stop for a drink if you're walking around Ybor City. Interesting to just grab a drink and walk around.

This restaurant is in historic Ybor City. It is very eclectic and casual. The sangria is great. My husband and I shared a fabulous cuban sandwich and guacamole and chips. The outdoor dining was great for people watching. I would definitely go back!

Very helpful and friendly bartender. Neat place with lots of nice nautical stuff on the walls. Wonderful sailing ship models everywhere. Fun place.

Gaspar's Grotto on E 7th Ave, Ybor City, Tampa, is a great place to stop and kick back on an afternoon when visiting Ibor. All of the bars that line 7th Street have girls out front trying to entice the tourists to stop and try their particular place. The girl working the entrance of Gaspar's said they have "drink specials"... More

I came here for Easter with family. We sat outside for the entertainment which was very good. The server brought us drinks and disappeared. We had to grab another server to get menus and was told our server was on break and there was nobody to cover her tables. WHO DOES THAT. When we finally got our food it was... More

The food and drink here are pretty good and not overpriced at all. The decor is a tad cheesy but what do you expect it's a pirate bar. The crowd is your average 30s beer drinking crowd, and it's got a fairly open set up. One of the nights we were there there was a driveby shooting across the street... More

We went there on a Sunday and tried their buffet. Food was fine. We sat outside on by the walkway and had to watch the hostess preen herself constantly, but her tattoos were entertaining. Don't trip over the vacuum cleaner that was left in the hall en route to the bathrooms. Mercifully this was a buffet and only had to... More

Having never eaten a Cuban sandwich, a buddy picked this restaurant because they are well-known for their Cubans. I was not disappointed in the quality or the price. Went in the early evening - mostly empty but still a fun vibe. Service was average, fries were less than average. Worth stopping by if you are in the area, especially if... More

With our waitress gussied up as a pirate's wench (is that politically correct?), and with a menu dotted with lots of varying choices, this was a pleasant stop. Sat outside in the shade (was a warm day) and enjoyed watching the tourists and locals enjoying the sights and sounds of Ybor City. The four of us all ordered different entrees... More

We talked to a bartender in another restaurant and asked if you wanted to eat a Cuban sandwich were would you go. She said "Gaspar's Grotto". So we took her advice and we were not disappointed. The Cuban was wonderful. Full of delicious meat...only I wish I had asked for extra pickles! We also had an order of wings that... More
