Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant service is not great and the food is very expensive for Mexican. I was with my family and none of us had a great meal.

Family group of nine, with 3 children in tow. Out of the five adults, one enjoyed her meal of chimichanga, one totally disliked his order of chicken enchilada's found to be greasy, with an off flavor and appearance. 2 orders of pork carnitas not up to standard with pieces of overly dried strands of pork and a chicken salad that... I'm a Tampa native and have been too Guadalajara about 20 times. It's either pretty good or very good. I've never had a bad meal here. This time I had the lunch pork sopas with rice and beans. It was super delicious. The meals come with chips and salsa but only one basket is complimentary the next well cost you.... More

We saw this place while leaving Tampa on our way to Ocala and thought we'd give it a try. It was a quiet afternoon with only a few customers around. Service was nevertheless very slow. Took forever to get chips and salsa (after our order was taken) and they have some weird rule about limiting the amount of chips and... More

Two of my co workers and I ate there for lunch a few weeks ago and were extemely sick for three weeks!, one even spent a week in the hospital. I personally missed eight days of work. I was diagnosed with cyclospora, this is the same bug that is a huge outbreak in Texas right now! This is the only... More

We had been to Guadalajara in the past, wasn't outstanding but it was plenty edible and did not want to make the ride acrosss town for Vallarta's.So I ordered the chicken fajitas and husband ordered the Steak Chimicanga. Chicken was sooo very dry I asked for more salsa because fajitas do not come with sour cream or cheese just a... More

I stopped in here for a quick dinner on the way to a meeting in the area. I make a habit of exploring Mexican restaurants whenever I'm in a new neighborhood or area at mealtime. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was quick and attentive (unlike the service described in other reviews). I made my own "combo" plate of a... More

Just got off the plane and hungry in Tampa. Still a two hour ride in front of me. Blasted right past this mex/tex treat. Made a U-turn and now have my Tampa airport treat for all future trips. Clean cute interior. Pleasant staff to answer questions and give timely service. Cold adult beverages. Fresh guacamole and not on shredded bland... More

Guadalajara is a Tampa tradition for the past 15-16 years. I have wined and dined many "Homesick Texans" here because some of the dishes are Tex-Mex, along with new Southwest transplants wanting "carne con chile and chile verde". They serve everything from barbacoa, to goat, sopes, gorditas, tortas, soups, ribs, chicharrones, chile rellenos, fish, shrimp, liver and cactus. That's not... More

The service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere was inviting and the food was fantastic! We very rarely go out for Mexican since my husband is a great cook with many Mexican dishes in his list of specialties. We usually end up being disappointed when we go out for Mexican, but I am happy to say that was NOT the... More
