Pricey , service was great, but food was average, view was good since they are located on the bay. Saw one pelican :-)

In 2013 during a family member's visit we enjoyed the Sunday Brunch. This year, we encountered terrible service during Sunday Brunch. It seems the assigned service staff were also assigned to cover a large private party in another room. We asked the hostess to track down our servers twice but long delays in getting the attention of our servers. When... More

My first impression of the Rusty Pelican was the beauty of the interior and its furnishings. My party had a window view of the bay that made the setting even better. Food was very good, scallops were done just right. Pricey menu but a nice getaway for a special occasion. Service was great, all in my party were pleased with... More

We went to the restaurant for happy hour and after being seated we were told by our waiter that happy hour prices and deals were only valid at the bar. We told the hostess we were there for happy hour so I'm not sure why she didn't inform us of this. The seafood is exceptionally good.

Sunday Brunch was wonderful. A new balance of made to order and buffet items. Our server Sandy was outstanding. The made to order Belgian waffle with whiskey butter was definitely the highlight, but everything was enjoyable.

My husband and I stopped for lunch on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path and just far enough from the hustle and bustle of Tampa. It is situated on the water and the view is incredible! Upon entering the building, you know you're in for a very special experience. Large fireplaces highlight the wood... More

I had anticipated visiting the Rusty Pelican for a while. My visit started out well: the steak tartare DIY is delicious and a great value. I also had a strawberry fields mule from the bar: an interesting twist on the classic. The views of the bay are great. Then things went downhill. I was told I could not take my... More

I had the blackened swordfish with plantains and garlic mashed potatoes. It was incredible! My husband had scallops and they were unbelievable as well. For the quality, I think the entrees were fairly priced and did I mention how our table overlooked the water and we felt as though we were cruising or on the water. Lovely place with terrific... We spent our 32nd Anniversary weekend in the Tampa / St. Pete area. After a day at Honeymoon Island State Park, this turned out to be the perfect place to end the weekend. I guess it was a good omen that when we pulled up, a wedding party was on site - taking pics during the sunset hour. This is... More
