We had driven by this place quite a few times and it always seems crowded, so we decided to try it, especially since I lived in the UK for several years. Parking is a challenge. My wife had the crisp and fresh salad and I had the shepherds pie. My wife said the salad was exceptional. My shepherds pie was... More

We spent the day at MacDill AFB & looked for a nearby place to celebrate my husband's birthday. Loved the atmosphere here. Also a nice menu for lunch & dinner. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie ($12). A large portion & very hot. However, not enough veggies to my liking. When I complained to our nice waitress, she immediately remedied this... More

Mad Dogs and Englishmen is a quirky dog friendly restaurant. My wife and I ate dinner here with our dog after an afternoon of swimming at Fort de Soto. We didn't have to wait long for a table and drinks and food came quickly. The staff were very understanding when my wife asked for a small change to one of... More

I have gone here for years. We have moved away from Tampa but my husband and I returned to Mad Dogs when in town this month and the food and service were great as always. Love the décor, big black and white photos of famous British people and the big traditional wooden bar.

Have not been here for a while and felt like fish and chips. Disappointing to say the least. Fish was dry and tasteless. Bangers and mash were very good and the service was very good. Usually very good so this visit was disappointing.

The service was great. Their suggestions were helpful. We both had the salmon. It was so tender, it just flaked apart. The flavor was sweet and tender, not dried out or over-cooked like so many other places we've tried. The salad and sides complimented the fish. We will be back.

We had not been to Mad Dogs in several years. We try to eat healthy and had had some mediocre meals in years past. But last night we had a terrific meal that rivals the best restaurants in South Tampa. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had a swordfish special. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and was a... Bodingtons on tap! Their steak sandwich and sweet potato fries may be rivaling the best in tampa! Truly worth it. The atmosphere is great and the outside deck is very cool!

We have been going to Mad Dogs for 14 years now. There have been a few changes over the years and they have all been for the better. We love the patio for outdoor dining, but our favorite now is the take out. Definitely try the fish and chips. Our English friend says it is the best in Tampa, and... More
