We came to 717 South to try something new. We had purchased a living social deal worth $100 for the restaurant and were eager to try it out last week, unfortunately they were all booked up when we attempted to make a reservation which isn't bad for business, so we waited a week. Upon our arrival we were greeted at... More

We had to wait for about 100min for our food, table of eight. Food was then served partially cold. No manager etc. showed up when we started complaining. At the end we were forced to pay 18% tip for a lousy all-over impression. Not friendly, no appology. Greedy (tip). Recommendation: Go elsewhere.

Our second meal at 717 was very good. The first time, we had a Groupon/Living Social deal, which encouraged us to try the restaurant. The second time (paying in full!) did not disappoint. The appetizers (Brussel sprouts and baked brie) were a hit and everyone enjoyed their meals. The menu is rather eclectic with relatively unusual options, but everything has... More

Made reservations for our anniversary based on friend's recommendation. Bistro atmosphere with lots of black and 1920's art work. Comfortable booth. Good wine selections. First, the negatives...the paper dinner and beverage menus had seen better days; looked like drinks had been spilled on them and they just let them dry. As the menu is one of the first opportunities for... More

We decided to give this restaurant a shot last month (after noticing it on open table) on a random Friday evening and we were pleasantly surprised with this venue. The service was really good as was the fare and wine and the decor is fantastic. The only downside is that the restaurant is really noisy and we were seated at... More

We drove into Tampa from our home on the beach and while I normally find plenty of venues here, a trip to the Soho area is a nice break. First time at 717 South. We had a large party for a birthday dinner surprise. Our server Josh was always on top of things and the appetizers and entrees were spot... More

Had dinner here with my daughter last night. I've heard good things about this restaurant and have been wanting to check it out. Groupon offered a deal so I thought it was the perfect opportunity. Some of the food was good and some not as good. We had the Shrimp & Grits -Sautéed shrimp, roma tomatoes, portabellas over Atkinson Mills... More

Whether you are looking for a nice romantic dinner or simply to have some strong drinks with friends and people watch, this is a great place to go. The food is fantastic and on almost any night (although some weeknights are "slow") you will find the bar busy, while the restaurant has some nice booths so you can have a... More

Dinner with Hubby. Joshua was our server. Very good service! We shared a wedge salad, good but nothing extra, in fact Outback's is better. The bread with marinara and chesse was delicious. Hubby had grilled chicken breast, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. A little disappointed that only one small boneless chicken breast for 16.90. He did enjoy it but felt could... More
