Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.

Yummy!

The food here was good but the sangria with Cava was the best! I would suggest a reservation even on a Sunday.

If you are going to eat in only one restaurant in Tampa, this should be the one. The food is quite good and the service on a busy Sunday afternoon was excellent. You'll find authentic Cuban and Spanish dishes prepared as requested. The red sangria was very good as well. I would have like to have seen a few more... More

Located in Ybor City, Florida, eating at the Columbia Restaurant is like spending a day feasting in Barcelona. Opened in 1905, the restaurant can seat 1700 people for lunch or dinner. Sunday seating starts at noon and the lines starts before that. The wait is worth every minute as the food is very good, the atmosphere is authentic and the... More

Fun for a family event. We enjoyed the flamenco show. The tapas and fish were good; nice variety of food, excellent desserts, decent selection of moderately priced wines, okay service - polite but not super responsive. We would go again.

This place is so large, I thought we had entered a different time zone by the time we reached our dining room. With a seating capacity of 1,800, I couldn't believe we needed reservations. We booked a table for 5 to watch the Flamenco dance show with dinner. The dancers were very good but lacked live accompaniment. It would have... More

My husband and I frequent this restaurant, but today was even better than usual. Food was outstanding as usual, but our waiter, Carlos, made the meal extra special! Give that young man a raise! We always feel like we am in a 5 star restaurant when we dine here!

If you are ever in Tampa (Ybor City), don't miss this one-of-a kind dining experience. The atmosphere is worth the trip alone, but the Cuban food was fabulous. We were a group of 6, and we shared entrees, and everything was excellent. The place was packed, but we never felt rushed; our server took time to answer questions, make recommendations,... More

We travel to Tampa almost every year and have been recommended this location from many friends and business associates. We finally made it and were not disappointed. It is a sprawling building with unique architecture offering a number of different separate dining rooms, patios, and lounge dining spots. The building itself offers the opportunity for exploring and great conversation. The... More

My mother and I decided to stop here on a whim on our way to IKEA. We were worried when we walked in we were not dressed appropriately. But the staff was so welcoming and helpful! We felt like we belonged! The decor was unique and I felt special eating there! We orders the Cuban/1905 salad combo and the sangria... More

Went with co-workers for lunch. Server was pushing bottled water and drinks. We were starving and looking for some good Cuban food. They did not serve plantain chips, which was astonishing! We ordered some appetizers, then a few people got Cuban sandwiches which they loved. I asked about Vaca Frita (shredded, fried beef) which was not on the menu, but... More
