Wanting a cozy place to enjoy a cold beer and a really good pizza, My husband & I opened the original Cappy's while we were still in college. That was almost 19 years ago. Since then, we have been blessed with a fantastic staff- some of whom have moved on to open their own partnership Cappy's stores! With locations in South Tampa (the original), Seminole Heights, St Pete, Brandon, Tampa Palms and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (I know, but it is my home town) we strive to maintain a relaxed, homey atmosphere. We specialize in pizza, but we do serve a mean greek salad, breadsticks and cheesebread. Our philosophy is to keep it simple, and excel in what we do best- which is pizza. We do, however, pride ourselves with an extensive micro/import beer selection. So, come join us for a delicious pie and maybe a beer that you've never heard of. Oh, and bring the kiddos- we are family friendly!

Amazing!

In love with this place. The tossed salad with house dressing was delicious and very flavorful. Cheesy bread was great and the pizzas were awesome. The New York style and Chicago style were the choices with any topping. Both were great and we finished both

We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food. Never had an issue with our waiters or waitresses, they have always been personable. They take cash only and have recently added an ATM (finally). The biggest gripe is when we try to order take out, it either takes forever for someone to answer or they never answer....

Visited this venue after the Bears/Bucs game with high anticipation. Wow, what a complete fail as far as a deep dish pizza experience. Quaint building with cool album cover, limited menus. Pizza and salads. We each ordered a small deep dish, one with anchovies and one a medium cheese. I have had deep dish pizza all over this great Country... More

I had a bad experience there where I feel I was treated rudely by one of the staff for simply asking why two parties that came in after me were seated ahead of me when I was next on the list. I asked to speak to the owner and he never had the decency to come over as I asked.... More

Heard about this place and tried going for weeks but the timing wasn't right. Finally got there and ordered a couple thin crust pizzas to eat in. It's rather tight in there and when a larger group came in we asked to take them to go. After eating them they were good though I'm sure not the same as fresh... More

My husband is from Chicago, so he and my son shared a deep dish Cappy and loved it! They said the crust had a nice crisp bottom, so I think they fixed what some folks were saying about the soggy crust. My daughter, her friend, and I shared a New York style pepperoni. The pepperoni was a little greasy but... More

I consider myself as someone that is a very good judge of pizza, especially since I have eaten deep dish all my life while growing up near Chicago. I also have a Navy husband that is usually not hard to please when it comes to food at all. With that said while visiting Tampa this week we decided to try... More

We were referred by a friend and all I can say is WOW! First the salad was absolutely excellent! It was fresh and the dressing was amazing! Now the main course, THE PIZZA! Having just returned from Chicago we were very pleasantly surprised. The pizza was great! Only thing missing was the ricotta cheese. After talking to our server she... More
