Best sushi ever

Couldn't believe how tasty the sushi was here. Well-prepared, well-sauced, well-served. This will be what all sushi going forward will have to compete with.

I've been to this restaurant five times, I finally decided I should write a review because it's been a consistent experience. The sushi is great! The presentation is great, the freshness is exactly what you would want from a sushi restaurant. However, the service all five times was terrible and very frustrating. I tried various tables, sushi bar and booth... More

We had an excellent evening! We had reservations and were seated immediately by an adorable hostess. We asked about the history of this impressive building and the hostess seemed happy to tell us about it. The building is very cool and just gives this restaurant so much character. Our waitress, Alex was exceptional and the sushi and cocktails were excellent!... More

We ate at the sushi bar. Great, fresh sushi! The sushi chefs are fun and you get your food quick. Bar was a bit slow but otherwise wonderful, nice service. Cool building too. It is not your typical Japanese sushi place. Worth going tol.

For years I have enjoyed dining here, but this particular night was perfect. Seated immediately in my choice of the most private booth in the place we were greeted and began with wine and sake. We started with warm, filling Negi-maki and an enormous Ika Sansai. For dinner we had several pieces of sashimi - tuna, yellowtail, smoked salmon, eel.... More

Good sushi and drinks (why is a decent martini seemingly hard to find?). The prices are very fair and the atmosphere is nice, but not pretentious. The exteremely high ceilings (it is in an old industrial building) make it seem uncrowded even when it is packed. I would highly reccommend!

Had a great night of fun & food in Ybor City. We were lucky enough to get a seat at the sushi bar and enjoyed the entire night. The food was fresh & full of flavor. The sushi masters were helpful in making special creations that we requested. Would definitely return.

Amazing sushi and atmosphere. This beautiful old building was wonderful. We had Tuna Tataki and a few other Tuna rolls. Everything was fresh and served with artistic style. Our service was excellent. She got us in and out on time for our show. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

Samurai Blue has a wide assortment of specialty rolls; my favorite has always been the Tuna Summer of Love Roll. However, the Spontaneous Combustion and Volcano rolls are tremendous as well. We are regulars here and look forward to it every time we go. Great location and environment in the restaurant. Staff is always friendly. Get there early if you... More

Took my wife, mother-in-law and brother-in-law for lunch. My mother-in-law is not into sushi but the restaurant made her a fried snapper in sweet chili sauce to die for. My wife had ahi tataki which was good but not up to Pacific rim standards. The specialty fusion sushis were excellent and the service prompt and friendly.
