Tasty & unique!

It's so nice having this wonderful restaurant in the Seminole Heights neighborhood - it's a true treasure. I met a friend here during the week for a 'gals night out' and we both enjoyed a delicious dinner and several tasty cocktails. The food selection has something for everyone - and there are... read more

I've been going to Ella's for years. Recently there have been some updates to the menu which I think were good. For example, the Chicken Mole, they cleaned up the plate presentation a bit, the arepa's seem even better. Other dishes also seem updated well. The bar is great, they have added Twisted Sun Rum (Tampa local distillery) to their... More

A place for wanna be hipsters. Crowded and small, we waited nearly an hour outside with mosquitos. When our table came open, we were escorted inside through a small dining room and out through the back door to be seated about 10 ft from where we sat waitIng. Citronella candles were in place but bugs persisted. The menue is small... More

Celebrating July birthdays. One of the group had been before and suggested we go. What a great time we had. Fun, funky little gem in Seminole Heights. Great drink menu. Our server Ian was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu on top of being very charming. Food was delicious and very reasonable. Loved every bit of this place. Can't... More

I have dined here on several occasions. The wait is always just short of ridiculous and the food is just average. In my experience the service has been borderline non existent on most occasions. The Sunday menu is by far the best they have to offer. The bloody mary's with the beef rib is the main reason to make the... More

Heard great things about Ella's and the experience was just as good. In a party of 4 everyone enjoyed their meals. They don't do reservations, but were very crowded - on a Tuesday night! Service suffered a little - felt like our waiter was overworked. But the food was delivered (by another server) when it was hot, so just meant... More

It use to be really good until they started cutting back on quality and the service went down along with it, today everything went wrong, my server Emily it was absolutely horrible; rude, and no desire to do her job. My crab squash appetizer was hard and under cooked, I asked her for a new one and she put it... More

We ate dinner at Ella's Americana Folk Art Cafe recently and I must say it was a terrible let down. We were told this was a great gathering place that had excellent food at reasonable prices. We arrived and were sat within 10 minutes. The dining area was full, but not packed. We ordered the jerk chicken wings and the... More

This is by far the best place for Sunday brunch in Tampa. They serve their bloody Ella (Mary) with a rib in it - a freaking rib! The chicken and waffles are awesome, their deviled eggs are delish with a splash of siracha, their collards are better than my Meemaw's...I've never had anything here that didn't make me want to... We knew we found a great place to have lunch when we had to hunt for parking. That will probably be the only downside on this review. The building is very trendy, folky with very friendly wait staff. Our wait was about 35 minutes on Sunday around 1:00 pm. We sat outside under the big oak trees in a roomy... More
