Louisiana Cajun flavor in Northeast Tallahassee

We first visited Coosh's Bayou Rouge a few years ago at it's former location (in a shopping mall/Killearn off Thomasville Road, near Wal-Mart) and enjoyed the sandwiches, soups, red beans and rice, gumbo, and especially the DESSERTS! Now they've moved to their new location and we like to sneak up... read more

First of all I would like to point out that I have actually been to New Orleans. That said, I can say this is in no way, shape or form authentic. The "Authentic" dishes they claim to serve are extremely bland, almost tasteless. On to the actual review now. On Mother’s Day we ventured around 45 minutes to eat at... More

My wife and I tried it for the first time for breakfast on a Saturday morning. My scrambled eggs with Chorizo sausage was good although a little dry. My wife's omelet was good although far too large to eat it all. The coffee was OK but not strong enough for me. The ambiance is sports bar without the huge TVs,... More

The food was good. I had ribs along with jambalaya were special, jambalaya close to Louisiana flavor. We all enjoyed the food. The service was a little on the slow side. We expect some level of noise in this type of restaurant, but the level this night was so loud it was difficult to converse over dinner.

I've eaten at Coosh's on about four occasions now with the most recent being in the last week. I keep trying it because I love creole and cajun food and keep hoping it will get better. It's OK and I am beginning to feel that is about all I am going to get in Tallahassee. The service is meh. Thus... More

I came in town from Texas and went to coosh's with my buddy. He suggested it and said he had always had good experiences. I ordered the BBQ pork and was pleasantly surprised. Chelsea was our server and she was very friendly and cute. The atmosphere was inviting and nice. I would definitely return.

We stopped in for a casual weeknight dinner with our two small kids. Enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We had the sampler of 5 selections and the Crawfish Etouffee' was my favorite and some of the best I've had. The shrimp po boy was pretty good. Having lived outside NOLA for a few years, I am used to more flavor... More

Got a great takeout brunch feast from Coosh's this morning. Delicious beignets, chicken biscuits, and a perfectly seasons shrimp and grits. They've also got wonderfully rich peanut butter pie!
