Typical Tallahassee Mexican, Canned beans

I keep looking for a truly good Mexican restaurant in Tallahassee and, while the menus may look a little different, the food is generally all the same where they feature canned refried beans in various burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and tacos. At El Patron I ordered the Burrito De Frijoles... read more

We love Mexican food, but this was mediocre. The chips and salsa were very good. Waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Just went through the motions.

Some of our friends have an FSU game tradition by coming here the Friday night before a home game, which led us to this great new spot. I know finding a great authentic Mexican restaurant can be rather difficult so we will make this extremely easy for you, check it out! This place was BUSY! Which is always a great... More

Perhaps it's because they seated folks close together for the convenience of the waiters, but it was nearly impossible to converse because of the noisy crowds in the next booths. There were other booths in a quieter area, but we weren't wise enough to ask for one. The food, however, was excellent. And the waiter was very attentive and efficient.... More

A few weeks ago I visited this stupid place. While most of the staff is friendly please beware if you don't speak Spanish. Some idiot lady named Marisol or Maricel (Maricona es lo que es) decided to talk negatively about me in Spanish while standing just 3 feet away from me. She was unaware of my roots. My server who... Recently met some friends here for lunch. Most if not all of the Lunch specials are $5.49. Plus you get the standard chips and salsa. Service was good and they had 2/1 Margaritas (although the small drink is $7) so you really only save a few dollars on the 2/1 deal. Food was hot and fresh. One of my buddies... More

My family has found it difficult to find a favorite Mexican restaurant in Tallahassee. We tried El Patron this past Friday and found it to be delicious. We will go again. Friendly & quick service! Portion sizes are great!

El Patron is wonderful playful Mexican culinary delight. The location is very convenient for state workers, and for 4.99 find yourself lost in their gigantic plate of fajitas. Hands down, better than Chipotle, service is great too. They know be by name and treat me very well!

Our server was great. Perfect timing and the food and drinks came fast. We had fajitas with generous portions and great taste. Highly recommend it.

Was here recently for a get-together with friends. The best thing I can say about this restaurant is that the server was very nice. The house margaritas are horrendous, the food was bland, and the service was incredibly slow (for drinks and food). Some people really seem to like it but I honestly can't see why.
