Older building but lots of atmosphere. Burgers are huge and delicious. Great place to go if you are hungry. Lots of draft beer selections.

Monk's restaurant has been closed. See Wells Brothers Bar & Grill for separate reviews & ratings. There is reference on a menu item to Uncle Monk.
We found this place on trip advisor and decided to give it a shot, loaded the address in GPS and it took us to Well's Brother's, no reference on Monks on outside of building, but we did see Monk references in menu. Anyway great burger selection, running $9 with fries, sw potato fries $1 extra. We ordered the wings and...

Had the panhandle burger with sweet potatoe fries and it was pure heaven! Best burger I have had in a while! Only negative was that the service was slow (small kitchen). If you have time the food is terrific!
Food is overpriced, and they have a sign posted (I'm paraphrasing here) "Please don't be mad when your food takes a long time, our kitchen is small and our menu is big." I watch a lot of restaurant impossible and bar rescue...it seems a simple solution would be to shrink the menu? Maybe that way your food isn't so pricey,...

We eat here almost every time we're in Tallahassee. Monks has never disappointed. Being vegetarians we are grateful for a place that has veggie burgers on the menu and will substitute for every burger. Portions are large so we usually end up splitting a burger. Love coming here.
Wells Brothers, the longtime locals know it as Monk's, was a great place to take the college student for dinner. Inside feels like a hole in the wall experience. Great burgers of all varieties to suit student and parent. Very popular.
First it was Monk's, then Wells Brothers, then Monks. Now it's back to being Wells Brothers again. (You know they mean it cuz they painted over the MONKS sign that graced the front of the building.) Either way, still great outdoor seating, good bar and good food. Vertigo has stolen Wells "Best Burger in Town" title, but the burgers here...

We went to Monk's (now called Well's Brothers) because we were in the mood for a burger, and when you don't eat beef, there are fewer options. Monk's offers a veggie burger, so it was out choice for the night. Everything was going fine, it was a beautiful night, so we sat outside because there was less of a wait...

Had a decent hamburger, but nothing special. I have had better burgers from some franchise casual places. The patty tasted like it was a pre-packaged frozen burger. It was very busy and it was 3 in the afternoon, lots of college students. Don't know why it has gotten such great reviews. I had been wanting to try it since burgers...
