Trendy with mediocre service

Convenient to the Doubletree and walking distance from the Capitol. Service was very slow and food arrived cold (really cold!), we had to send it back and they microwaved the platter, Taste was OK but somewhat bland. It was pretty noisy and crowded. Bad, bad, bad! When we arrived, the "hostess" standing behind a podium acted as if she could not care less that we had arrived for our reservation. The server (who did the very best that he could do) welcomed us by saying, "We are out of everything!". No lobster main roll, no beef of any kind, (steak, and hamburgers), no... More

Could not get what ordered because the ran out of grouper and burgers! Service was slow and food came without garnishes ordered. Not a good experience!

Avenue has established itself as one of Tallahassee's best dining destinations. Dishes emphasize fresh, mostly locally sourced and farm-to-table preparations. Steaks are the only prime angus beef in town and seafood is from the Florida Gulf. The menu changes, but if cioppino is offered, take it. This is also the only place in town to get baratta mozzarella (in a... More

When you want a nice restaurant in Tallahassee to take your guests from out of town, this is the perfect place because it would fit right in if it were in Atlanta or NYC! Very good food, nice portion sizes, and a great bar with several hard to find scotches, etc. They can accommodate any size group, but we always... More

I have eaten at Avenue Eat and Drink several times and have always enjoyed the food. As others have mentioned it is noisy, no sound buffers, concrete floors, etc. Also the tables are very close to each other. My parties have always consisted of 2 people and it has not been difficult to communicate which is important to me as... More

This was my first time eating here and the salmon was delicious. It was a bit pricey but well worth it and the great waiter we had made the experience great. He was knowledgeable of the menu and offered his opinion on everything from wines to desserts. My date and I went before the rush but as we were leaving... More

We were a party of ten on a Friday night, and felt squished into a long booth that was hard to access from one end. The side of the table with chairs backed into another party. My mahi mahi was sumptuous, but I was not exactly sure what else I ordered. I had asked the waiter to repeat the side... More

This place was crazy! OK, first off, they take your reservation, but you don't actually get a reserved table, because when we showed up for our reservation, they said it would be at least a 45 minute wait. We ran into some other friends who also had made a reservation and tried to combine the 2, so that we could... More

Billed as a Steak House, the Avenue has grass fed beef, naturally raised pork, quail, and local organic vegetables. The drinks are amazing (try the cucumber infused vodka honeydew martini - incredible). The food and service are exceptional. If you are staying in downtown, this is one of the nicest places to be. It can get crowded so either go... More
