We just bought a vacation house in Sugarloaf and were in our new home on Fathers Day. Of course we had to take Dad out to dinner. He was excited to try this place. We were seated in an outside area and while the restaurant is right on route one it still felt isolated and tropical due to the screening. The service was attentive but not intrusive. I went for some apps and had conch fritters and spring rolls. The fritters were really well done and hard and the spring rolls were seasoned with soy sauce on the inside leaving them super salty and easily soggy because of the amount of liquid from the inside. This restaurant was recommended by friends and we were delighted to find it near the house we rented in Lower Sugarloaf Key in December of 2008. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. We have been going down to the Keys for years now and our trip is never complete until we have stopped at Mangrove Mamas. Whether we sit in the main dining room, in the keysey bar or on one of the 3 outdoor patios, we are always in for a treat. The seafood is out of this world. Everything there... more

We left early from our stay in KW. We left because the weather sucked at best. Decided to make a road trip stopping at several spots on the way back to Key Colony Beach. I've always wanted to stop in at Mangrove Mamas, but never "hed the time to stop". BOY O BOY - will we make time to stop... more

we showed up at 9 pm on mini lobster season and 2 minutes later someone came up to informing us they stop seating at 8:45 p. Wow 15 minutes and they don't want are money. I will never go back to this place. more
