Far Cry from a NY Jewish Deli

Today (May 25, 2015) My parents, wife and I went to TooJay's for lunch. We ordered a Brisket on Rye, Pastrami on Rye, Triple J (Corned Beef, Roast Beef, Turkey, Swiss Cheese, Cole Slaw and Russian Dressing) on Rye and a Mandarin Chicken Salad. Even though the sandwiches came with coleslaw and a... read more

Was I at the same restaurant as everyone else?! Wanted to bring MIL and sister to a place they requested. Three of us ordered Ruebens and these were the driest I think I have ever tried and I have eaten quite a few over the years. Am I the only one who likes them moist? All the sauerkraut didn't help.... From the sandwich and side items I got it is really good. Unfortunately there is not another one of these in North Florida, so I have to travel down south to delight myself in another deli sandwich. However if you want something like cucumber in water, forget about it! I got half of a cucumber in extra thick slices in... More

Too Jay's has long been a favorite for excellent deli style dining. My most recent visit was no exception. I was errand running and discovered some of TOO JAY'S terrific coupons in my center console. Like finding misplaced money! Luckily one coupon was for a single meal (not requiring a "twofer"), I decided that, being hungry, I would spend the... More

On my last night in town, we went to Toojays. The menu was chock full of the most delicious deli items. I settled on two appetizers, the mini potato pancakes and the chopped liver. The basket of 8 potato pancakes arrived piping hot, crispy/crunchy exterior, chewy and flavorful inside. Served with a smooth and silky applesauce and sour cream, it... More

Somewhat overpriced but good food. Service is so hit and miss! One time it's great, the next horrible. It doesn't matter how busy they are, the bad service was on a day and time when it was pretty dead in there. Anyway if you like french onion soup, theirs is one of the best I've ever tasted.Reuben is superior! Anything... More

What a find...know there are others of this brand in neighboring cities. Wow, what great food, great soups and traditional deli with great food and huge sandwiches. Only sorry only had time to eat there once. Next time in the area will be back for sure.

Always good, always way too much food. I had a reuben and it was very good, cold slaw was good and the fries were cooked to perfection. However they need to watch a little closer to their service the guy next to me having about the same thing and was seated after me, was half way done with his meal... More
