When the waitress says nothing is fresh, that means the boats were not able to go out that day. I have eaten there numerous of times. When I visit my mother we often go there to eat. The portions are huge, so it is better to share a dish. This is the only place I know of that I can... More

When you have a restaurant in a place known for fishing and the waitress says, "Nothing is fresh," that says it all. Hard to mess up swai but it can be done

Florida "fried" would best describe most of the dishes. Smallish selection of menu items and they are over priced. All the ambiance of a banquet hall.

It is not on the menu, but you can ask to substitute the best potato salad ever for a side. It is made with red potatoes and has onions. The grouper sandwich is great, too!

We went to have an early supper there (around 4:30), when we arrived, I believed we were one of only 3 parties there. We were seated immediately and a window table that had a remarkable view of the water, our server took our drink and appetizer order which were promptly brought. My wife ordered the fried shrimp $16.99 and I... More

We have had fried catfish and steak sandwich. Food was OK, but nothing special. Price a little bit too high for the quality. Fries come in a plastic basket, salad from the salad bar also on plastic plates. The atmosphere of the restaurant is more like a fastfood location. Nice view to the river. Service was good.

The grouper sandwich was great. We went back a second night and I had the salad bar, which was great. It's true that everything is a la carte even when you order a sandwich. You have to pay a couple of bucks extra for fries or cole slaw. Oh well. There aren't many choices in Steinhatchee.

I thought the food was just okay. I think it is very overpriced. Be aware that their sandwiches do not include anything, not even chips. They do not have a large menu. The décor does not fit the pricey entrees. There is a great view of the water, so you are paying for that.

I go to Roys in Steinhatchee often. Don't know where you went but it wasn't Roys. It is neither shabby nor run down. They have the best prime rib and fresh mullet any where on the river. The salad bar is homemade daily, local grouper, snapper, oysters, soups and chowders, clean dishes tables and servers. I look forward to dining... More
