Beyond my expectations

My wife and I had lunch here on a week day. It was very busy which is typical of the Whisk. I was amazed at the good service, and I am one that doesn’t care about service that much. If I have a glass of wine in front of me, I don’t normally care how long it takes for the... read more

What a wonderful experience. Greeted by a group of caring people and felt very welcome. Started with the fried green tomatoes, the shrimp and grits shared 3 different sandwiches and then there was the deep fried red snapper................the absolute best piece of fish i have ever experienced. Perfectly spiced and done to perfection!!!!!! Brendan Connor the Chef and owner stopped... More

Seems to be spotty. Sometimes very good, other times just good. This is not anegative review and I would suggest this place as a you can't go wrong place.

Seldom do you go to a restaurant where everything from appetizer to main meal to service is exceptional. That was not the case when my wife and I recently went to Whisk for a late lunch/early dinner. Everything was exceptional. We started with fabulous fried green tomatoes with a wonderful buttermilk dipping sauce. Great way to start the meal. Then... More

Awesome place tucked away in Sunset place.... We stopped here with some friends for lunch and loved what they had to offer. As for starters I would recommend the bacon wrapped and stuffed dates... If your looking for something sweet and savory to please your palate these will fit the bill... as they say great things come in small packages... More

Went here on a whim and it was a great decision. Located in South Miami in a small neighborhood,. Food was out of this world. On the recommendation of our waiter we all ordered the fried chicken with the bacon gravy. It was beyond delicious. Reasonably priced, only down fall was it was just beer and wine

So we finally got to eat at Whisk Gourmet and it was well worth the wait! Here is my review on my blog for more details and photos: http://listen2mama.com/2014/12/16/whisk-gourmet/ The restaurant is in a great little neighborhood of South Miami and since it is small, they do not take reservations for parties less than 6. So you have to time... More

I must admit this place has a nice menu, and the food was tasty, and reasonably priced. After that, it's all downhill. Parking may as well be non-existent. Apparently South Miami does not have any regulations regarding restaurant parking. We ended up parking several blocks away. The wait for a 4-top was almost 40 minutes on a week night shortly... A great menu offering hardy portions and excellent food. The parking is an issue but well worth the effort. The service is fast and friendly. A very good wine and beer list.

Lively restaurant, packed into a cozy space. Call ahead to avoid an impossible wait. Even with advance notice you'll likely wait for a table to open up. Parking as others have noted is ridiculous. Service was good and attentive. Food options are varied and all were very good. Some nice local variations on the meals served. Prices are on the... More
