Description: Ophelia's on the Bay is one of Sarasota’s premier fine dining waterfront...
Ophelia's on the Bay is one of Sarasota’s premier fine dining waterfront restaurants. Enjoy beautiful vistas of Little Sarasota Bay, from the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the dining room. Or join us for al fresco dining on our open-air patio, as the dolphins and manatee swim by. Winner of many awards both locally and nationally, including an Excellence rating from Zagat as well as being listed as the number one restaurant in America in Power and Motoryacht Magazine for dock and dine. Ophelia's on the Bay has also been voted most romantic, best waterfront and best restaurant with a view by its loyal customers. The menu changes nightly using fresh and seasonal ingredients, fresh fish flown in from all over the world and specialty meats. There is certainly something for every palate! We feature an extensive wine list, specialty martinis, as well as a full bar. Family owned and operated for over 22 years, we have an experienced staff that prides itself on exemplary service.

Great Outdoor Setting

I have been at Ophelia's 3 times - guess that says something about how I feel about the restaurant . The main reason for going is to sit outside , beside the water . It is so relaxing to sit at a table enjoying a martini ( of which there are many varieties ) or a glass of wine .... read more

From the snapper to the eggplant crepes, we thoroughly enjoyed our sunset dinner at Opelias on the Bay. Friends who live in Sarasota introduced us to this gem of a restaurant. We watched ospreys soar over the water as we enjoyed the fine food and service.

My wife and I went out of our way to try the happy hour. It is advertised as nightly from 5-6. We arrived and were told there was no happy hour. I later called and left a message asking them for an explanation and left my name and number saying that I wanted to write a review for Trip Advisor.... More

Lovely place, great food, on the expensive side. Excellent service all around--valet, server, host, all were top notch. We had my 12 year old daughter with us and they don't have a kids menu but the chef offered a number of choices so she felt pretty special. This is not the kind of place I would call kid friendly if... More

Arriving on time for our reservations, we had to wait to be seated because the 2 women at the front dest were unable to decide where and when we would be seated. We asked for seating outside near a heater since it was cool that evening, they asked us to wait, and then preceded to seat all others coming in... More

Expensive, but delicious gourmet dinner. We also went for Sunday brunch, which had lots of variety with amazing prime rib, Alaskan King crab legs, all kinds of pastries and breakfast and lunch dishes. With a family reunion of 12 people...it was a great choice!!

A Friday evening dinner followed by Sunday brunch validated what we had read about this wonderful restaurant. The food is superb and the staff most attentive.

We needed a place to eat after watching the sunset at Turtle Beach. Ophelia's was closest and reviews looked good. I had the baked oysters, lobster bisque and the sole. The bisque was delicious and had huge pieces of lobster in it. The sole was a little salty. I enjoyed the oysters. My girlfriend had the large shrimp wrapped in... More

First of all, let me preface this by saying that we've been coming to Ophelia's for a year and a half. That said, we made reservations for tonight around 3 PM on OpenTable, and requested to be seated outside (without expecting to be accommodated due to the last-minute nature of our visit). Upon or arrival the valet was prompt and... More

This is a must visit place. Service from the valet parking, waiters and everyone just over the top. Our waiter Dan explained all the dishes in great detail and while I am sure he did it all night he did it as if we were his first customer of the day. The wine list is excellent. We had a 2011...
