Description: Ophelia's on the Bay is one of Sarasota’s premier fine dining waterfront restaurants. Enjoy beautiful vistas of Little Sarasota Bay, from the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the dining room. Or join us for al fresco dining on our open-air patio, as the dolphins and manatee swim by. Winner of many awards both locally and nationally, including an Excellence rating from Zagat as well as being listed as the number one restaurant in America in Power and Motoryacht Magazine for dock and dine. Ophelia's on the Bay has also been voted most romantic, best waterfront and best restaurant with a view by its loyal customers. The menu changes nightly using fresh and seasonal ingredients, fresh fish flown in from all over the world and specialty meats. There is certainly something for every palate! We feature an extensive wine list, specialty martinis, as well as a full bar. Family owned and operated for over 22 years, we have an experienced staff that prides itself on exemplary service.

We visited last Sunday for the lunchtime Buffet with Jazz. We weren't welcomed so had to ask female there with clipboard about our booking. She just said 'last name' with no friendliness, as we've found elsewhere in Florida. We had booked a table outside and the view is great but our waitress rather curt. She didn't really want to listen... More

We went to Ophelia's with friends for a late dinner. It was too chilly to sit outside on their beautiful patio even though there were heaters throughout. Indoors, the ambience is nothing special. The oyster appetizer was delish! The buffalo mozzarella salad was overdressed so you may want to ask for dressing on the side. I had the salmon which... More

I was a little worried when we walked in and it smelled really "fishy", was dark and seemed out dated. But - we took a table outside which was very romantic. Our waiter was fantabulous. Knowledgable about everything on the menu and directive - exactly what we like. We started with the Oysters. Tons of flavor - really nice. My... More

Our friends took us here the first night we arrived to make an impression: mission accomplished. We had a table right on the water, very nice. The menu is diverse but we all had the same thing, lobster bisque and sea bass because it sounded so good, and it was! The bisque had huge chunks of lobster in it and... More

Our server was very professional, efficient and anticipated all of our needs. My wife had ahi tuna and I coconut encrusted mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We left totally saisfiedand would go back.

When a restaurant charges $39 for a filet mignon it better be center cut and this was not. We were very disappointed in the meat quality .. there was a corner in it that couldn't be eaten. yuck. The sides that came with it were for older people .. smashed sweet potato, mashed potato and spinach that tasted like peanuts... More

On a moonlit night this week my husband an I enjoyed a wonderfully prepared dinner here. The meal was perfect, the atmosphere was romantic. We will definitely dine here on our next visit.

We had heard that Ophelia's had a great view of the bay--but that is grossly understated. The view is just awesome. The restaurant is right on the water and overlooks little Sarasota Bay and many of the mangrove "islands" that are home to many species of birds. Although we didn't see any that day, we were told that it's common... More

Visiting from Chicago, we drove 30 minutes from the airport to dine on Siesta Key. I had the snapper and it was excellent as was the wine. The server was very personable. The parking is extremely limited and the valets get a little backed up so be patient and you will enjoy it.

Regrettably the food at Ophelia's did not live up to my expectation or the prior reports thereof. However, the setting makes up for any shortcomings. All in all a wonderful time in a beautiful place.
