The Cottage has been open, I believe, about 3 years. The log cabin construction is funky, and you would think it means a burger and beer place. But actually it has some of the finest Peruvian inspired dishes around Sarasota - which is saying something. The ceviche dishes are always good. The flank steak is another favorite, as are the... This restaurant was the best we experienced on Siesta Key. We were so pleased, we went back for lunch one day. During lunch there is some sort of specially priced entrée menu ($8?) which was a great deal. There were four of us in our party and we chose patio seating one night. There was a man there playing the... More

Stopped in for a cocktail before dinner and had a Sake version of sangria --very refreshing. Also ordered a side of their chips with dipping sauces. YUM YUM. I could have made a meal with those. Menu is very different than many of the other beach restaurants, but we didn't get the opportunity to sample on this trip. Great tiki... More

This is a fabulous place to go for lunch. I love the tuna tartar tacos. They have a wide selection of drinks.

I had fairly high expectations after reading some good reviews, but I was disappointed. Our server had a really bad attitude and it was totally dead in the restaurant. No reason for slow, inattentive, unfriendly service. The food was mediocre and we won't be returning since we didn't feel welcome. She didn't smile one time, I swear. We seemed to be... More

We had a bunch of different tapas after being at the beach all day, it was perfect, Christine was our server and Geno our bartender. Our faves were the chowder, the spare rib and the tuna tacos. The jalapeño margaritas were delish as well.

We were only in Siesta for one day and found good ratings for The Cottage. We were not disappointed. We had delightful chips with two delicious dipping sauces. Plantain chips and sliced, homemade potato chips as an appetizer were wonderful. We enjoyed the Cottage salad with grilled shrimp and my husband the sea bass. Both were very tasty. The waitress...
