Great experience at Javier's

This was our first experience with Peruvian food and I would recommend this restaurant highly. Customer service was excellant, we were greeted at the door as soon as we walked in and we were thanked so much when we left, as well as being given a 10% discount for our next time there. After hearing many recommendations from friends, we decided to visit Javier's on a saturday night around 8 PM. We walked in and were greeted by the wafting aromas of delicious food to come. We were seated immediately by a very nice woman who I assumed was an owner, as she asked about the reason for our visit and where we... More

A friend at home recommended Javier's, and we read the strong reviews, so perhaps our expectations were too high. It's a nice, indoor ambiance. Nothing fancy. Friendly, attentive staff, including Javier himself, who greeted us at the door. The three of us each tried a different dish: Corvina filet; a shrimp and chicken stir fry in rice; and a chicken... Lovely change from the normal seafood bars in Siesta Key. Great range of quality dishes and drinks. Scallops and Bacon, and the Chinese/Peruvian fusion (sounds strange but is great) are my favourites.

We started with a Pisco sour. The service was friendly and our waitress knowledgable. The ceviche was incredible. The seafood was perfectly prepared. The owner and his wife were present and made sure we had a great experience. Don't be afraid to try Peruvian food !

Good food, friendly service, lovely décor. My parents used to go here quite a bit and they highly recommended it. Still just like they describe. A little pricey, but worth the splurge. Food is very nicely done.

Always wanted to try Peruvian food. We had a fabulous server, Pierre. He helped us make our selections and he certainly was on the money. I had Peruvian paella and my husband had duck. We were very happy with both. Best was their flan...I'm a flan lover and this was absolutely fabulous. Definitely a go to for a nice, different... More

This restaurant serves Spanish style food, which I am lukewarm about. The best thing about Javier's is Javier. He takes the drinks order and makes the wonderful Bananas Foster, their specialty dessert. We had a. very nice conversation with Javier about Peru and enjoyed his special dessert.

The place is cozy and the service is great. As for the food, it is laking flavor and punch. This restaurant is serving peruvian food but not all peruvian staples are in the menu. Prices are a bit high giving that the dishes are not up to par.

I must have had a unique experience compared to some of these other reviewers. Slow service with a frump staff. Not a great restaurant, especially if you put it up against Selva downtown.
