We usually have gone to SKOB 3 or 4 times during the month that we are here. This year our one visit was a huge disappointment. The clam chowder was served lukewarm (we sent it back) and the hamburger we ordered was pretty much tasteless. We decided that there were other places that we would go rather than back here.

Even though I had been to Siesta Key twice before, I had never been to Siesta Key Oyster Bar (or "SKOB" as the locals call it). My husband and I visited SKOB on a recommendation from our bartender at 3.14 Pi, Fraser. We were looking for a different scene to enjoy our limited time on the Key. It was around... More

I've been visiting Siesta Key for a decade now and I've always stopped at SKOB at least once on every trip. I loved the combination of energy, live music, great drinks and excellent food. While the energy, music and drinks are ok, the food selection and service have taken a major hit. The first thing I noticed is that the... More

What's not to like! Drinks made from scratch, waitresses that ask what the ladies want first, delicious oysters, scrumptious mussels, grouper bites thatelt in your mouth! Though not at seaside, the atmosphere is definitely tropical w/ music Playing, license plates from around the world to dollar bills stapled to the ceiling! And flatbread pizza that was very tasty for adults... More

This is a great place to have oysters, beer or the drink of your choice and a sandwich. The New England claim chowder is outstanding. The oysters were so good we had two orders! The service was excellent and it is just a cool place to relax, watch a sporting event on one of the many TV screens and enjoy... More

Two weeks ago some friends stopped here to eat oysters. They got sooo sick. Yesterday we went ourselves and ordered fried grouper and had major sickness... something is going wrong here... and hygiene must be poor. So be carefull with this tourist trap! Anyone else got sick? Plus dogs were sitting in the restaurant...isn't this a hygiene problem?

We are truly sorry to hear your friends got sick. Oysters are a raw product and do effect some people in different ways. Two weeks ago, we were serving 5000 Oysters a day and have not had one complaint. Our oysters are brought in fresh daily. Our food quality is superior to most restaurants, thus we are saddened to hear... More

We just visited Siesta Key / Sarasota for a week over Christmas and landed at the "SKOB" -- what a find! Our family chilled out with great food, cold beer and great live music at the beach at night! The staff was GREAT~! The food was great! Most of all, we had a blast! The people around us were all... More

although half price oysters are great, they were quite small. we got 14 instead of the 12 that it is advertised as, which was a bonus. Ordered my hamburger well done and it came out quite un-done. had to send it back, ended up getting a salad instead as my husband was well into his meal and we didn't want... More
