Not a good change, won't be back. Wish I had read the reviews before we tried it. I gave specific details under Jalea name.

From now what I've read, Sangria was a place for a good meal. However, our experience October 2013 was that the restaurant is now known as Jalea located at 1532 Main Street, Sarasota and we were extremely disappointed.

Our innkeeper at the B&B where we were staying told us that Sangria had changed names and tweaked their menu and was now a Spanish/Peruvian tapas restaurant. We decided to give it a try and we are glad we did! We ordered a chicken dish, a beef skewer dish, and an eggplant dish to share. All were excellent and served... More

This was a great tapas restaurant that we ended up in only because the restaurant that we had planned to visit (Mattison's) had too long of a wait. So we walked down the street and found this little gem. We were very happy at the end of our meal that we had not been able to be seated at Mattison's... More

We had a tapas dinner here one night and it was so fabulous, we ended our trip here with a second visit. Joel was our server, and he made us feel so special and took such excellent care of us that we requested him when we made our reservations for last Friday night! I asked Joel to recommend a great... Sangria has delicious tapas (plates are small, so if you are with a group order accordingly). They have several types of sangria, the red was really good.

if you are a finger food enthusiast, Sangria is the place for you in Sarasota. With Tapas a mainstay/main theme of their establishment, and very reasonable specials (prices) they offer, you will enjoy your foray into Spanish food exploration. We (my wife & I) will return (Lord willing)!

We recently learned about Spanish tapas and occasionally enjoy a dinner of those little tidbits with a carafe of sangria. That's what we did last night. Parking can be tough in downtown Sarasota but we got a spot very close to the restaurant with no problem. It's a well lit, attractive place with table and booth seating. Our waiter was... More

We have recently moved to Sarasota and this is our favorite restaurant. We have been there at lunch time and for an early dinner so we have not heard the live music. The service has been excellent and we have enjoyed our visits immensely. There are two shrimp dishes on the tapas menu and they are delicious. The lamb chops... More
