My daughter and her fiance took me out for my birthday dinner. A basket with a selection of bread sticks and facaccia accompanied by a bowl of herbed infused oil was the free starter. Then drinks and shrimp appetizer, big sweet shrimp delicious with mushrooms, nice sauce and a single piece of bread, tasted great but the presentation did not... More

Our host and hostess in Sarasota said Café Baci was the best and they were right. It reminded me of all the family Italian restaurants in the Northeast. The fish dishes were prepared with a gentle hand, not smothered in sauces or anything. Sea bass is excellent, as were the pasta dishes. Good service

I have not been here for 10 years and it was still very good. Small menu but everything is good. Service is attentivr but not intrusive. Everyone had something different. Veal parm, veal satimnoca, bolognese lasagna and fettucinni alfredo. No complaints. At one time it was more fancy and romantic, now bring the kids.

Here 2 years ago on recommendation of friends. Food was good as was service. Came again this past New Year's Eve. Both food and service slipped. Went the other night only because a $100 gift certificate was provided by friends. Four of us for dinner. Service was blah. Waitress seemed new. Did not know her wine. Owner (?) was blasé,... More

Our favorite "go to" Italian restaurant. Our party had the Grouper and Seabass fish specials and the preparation, freshness and goodness of both were excellent. The Linguine with fruits of the sea with a white sauce was perfect. Al dente pasta over loads of shrimp, scallops, mussels and fish. The mushroom ravioli was to die for. Can't wait to go... More

Our dinner at this restaurant was great; it was our favorite Italian restaurant this side of the Atlantic ocean. We've been to many NYC Italian restaurants, but they could not compete for the quality and service here. My go-to dish is pasta primavera and it was the best. A day later we had lunch which has a much smaller menu,... More

We've passed Café Baci numerous times when on Tamiami Trail in south Sarasota. It was highly recommended by friends visiting the area from up north. Our meals ranged from excellent to just OK. The homemade bread was really good, with a nice dipping sauce. The Vitella Di Abundanza was a terrific tasting dish of 3 veal dishes (marsala, piccata and... More

This was our first time dining at Baci's and we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. After being seated we were served large antipasti that contained slices of pepperoni, salami, sopresata, and a selection of cheeses and olives! The best part was it was complementary! All of our dinners were large portions, quality of food was outstanding and the... More

My wife and I enjoyed a very great dinner here today, after a performance at the Florida Studio Theatre. As usual it was great. The early bird includes a $10 bottle of wine and three courses for $15. Chicken and veal parmigiana made to perfection, nice Caesar salad and spumoni for dessert. A must visit when you are in Sarasota, period. You... More

We were eight and they made sure we had a round table, which is not always the case. Everyone liked their choices. I had the Red Snapper done Italian style and it was very good. The atmosphere is very nice and the noise level is quiet so you can easily talk to one another. The service was impeccable. It on... More
