The owners original concept was to take a small popular village beer and hot dog stand and turn it into a casual Restaurant and Pub. They have mixed the best of the Florida Keys and their British heritage to create a fun family environment that is appealing to people from all walks of life. There are now 2 locations and they are patronized not only by their many regular local customers and characters but they also enjoy abundant new and repeat business from all over the United States and from around the World.

I know, kind of a weird choice from the Salty Dog, but seriously, try it. I have dreams about this salad. Chick peas, edamame, corn, cranberries, all mixed up into an incredible sort of relish. This is then topped onto a fresh bed of greens with a great dressing. Who knew Salty Dog would creat such a simple but GREAT... More

Everytime we are down here we have to stop at the Old Salty Dog. It's our tradition. Whenever we are in FL my husband says he doesn't care where we go as long as he gets a salty dog! It very bad for you but it tastes so good. Kids love the frisbees that their meal comes on. We have... More

Stopped here for lunch while in Sarasota. Nice location on the water. Great views. Quaint hangout and lots of fun. Food was good and service was, too. Would have liked to stay around for a few drinks but didn't have the time. Love the decor!

This restaurant sits on the inlet facing the bridge to longboat key. Even in July it was very comfortable sitting outside. The grouper fish sandwich was good sized and tasted great! My friend had the lobster roll and even though she said it was delicious - it was very messy.

I was seated and then totally ignored although three tables after me were seated and served beverages immediately. Must be my face! Anyway I just left and no one even asked me why.At least it was a cheap lunch.

Yes. You are right. I should have known not to get a fried hot dog. Hot dogs should be grilled. It was horrible. We also had the conch appetizer-fair and the fish and chips...I just won't comment on.

They don't call it Old Salty Dog for nothing. There are two locations in the Sarasota area and they are as popular as chocolate ice cream. For whatever reason, we had never been to Old Salty Dog in all the years we have been coming to Sarasota. On our last day of our vacation, for a local sendoff, we had... More

Waterfront dining with the freshest Florida seafood available. Anytime I'm in Sarasota I try and stop by to have lunch. This place is casual and laid back! You can arrive by car OR boat! Service and food are excellent. Prices are reasonable and the view is unbeatable! Grouper Sandwich is the best!!

The Old Salty Dog is just what my wife and I were hoping for - laid back, t-shirt and sandals kind of place on the water. We enjoyed being right on the dock, seeing boaters come up and dock to eat here. Super friendly staff, good prices, and a fantastic grouper sandwich! We'll be back next time we are near... More
