Great Surprise

We went to this restaurant based on the recommendation of a couple we had met at Siesta Key Beach. Trying to find it and the parking lot took awhile, but once inside we found it to be a very nice small cozy restaurant. We were the only ones there that night so the service we received was... read more

I live several beaches South of Sarasota, so I was surprised when I found the doors locked for Saturday lunch a few weeks ago. There were no hours of operation posted anywhere and I asked a local merchant and he said, yes D'Corato keeps some unusual hours. They are open an amazing 3 1/2 hours!, MON-SAT from 530-9PM. I arrived... More

Grateful to find this little gem here in Sarasota, especially after enduring some more hyped and expensive places purporting to be the genuine article. The entire atmosphere reminded me of a place in Puglia, in Martina Franca, where you feel well taken care of ... especially if you are aware of how good the menu can be. So, don't go... More

Average food is bordering on a compliment. Italian food without garlic on anything is…. not how I like my food. A little noisy when more than 1/2 full. Clean with good parking.

My wife were pleasantly surprise with this little out of the way gem. Family run establishment which reflected the pride of the two brothers. The ambiance was romantic and quaint. The service was very friendly and the food was very good. Definitely will be back to try all of the other entrees.

family owned. White table clothes and music to fit the mood. The food is not to be believed- better than what I experienced in florence Italy. Small menu because everything is freshly made. So many restaurants in Sarasota- make this one the one you go to.

We tried this place because of TA and Yelp reviews. A friendly greeting by owner's son Sabino started the wonderful evening. First a bottle of good Prosecco. This was followed by fresh homemade gnocchi with Bolognese sauce then Red Snapper Barese sautéed with white garlic and oil. Fairly priced red wine flowed. Finally Italian lemon torte and espresso. Service was... More

By looking at this restaurant from the outside, you might drive past. But we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere inside was nice, the waiter was very good and the food was excellent. We will return.

The food is authentic and delicious and the service superb! I had the Veal Piccantine and my husband had the Salmon Cernia and we were very pleased. Also on the second Tuesday of the month they have a 4 course wine tasting meal for $30.00 per person, reservations required. This has to be the best bargain around.

This is a hidden gem that deserves to be busy all the time. It is a truly family run restaurant with Mom doing the exceptional cooking. I ate there last night. I kept it simple. A cup of the Strachiatella soup and eggplant Parmesan. The soup was loaded with Parmesan cheese. Really delicious. The eggplant was equally good. No breading.... More
